Meet Mike Kelleher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Kelleher.

Mike Kelleher

Hi Mike, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I struck out on my own in 2019 due to the fact that I had a vision that I had to pursue. I started in a small single room that I rented in a wonderful spa in Kirkwood. Luckily I became busy enough to expand and opened my current stand-alone space in Decatur, GA I July of 2021 and have enjoyed an unimaginable amount of support from my patients, both new and old that I never would have dreamed.

I had a very clear vision of what I was going to accomplish. Supported by years of training, dedication, successes and failures, but my passion, conviction, and perseverance never wavered…and here we are today. Open for just over two years, numerous accolades and awards, continuing to expand, innovate and set the trend for the industry.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, and that is a good thing. I believe the quote is “No pressure, no diamond”. I am not a business person, I do not have an MBA, but I do know my craft, and I know how to treat people. So yes, there was (and is) a lot of on-the-job training, specifically on the logistics and business end. And that’s ok. I relish the challenge, and I am a curious sort, so I need to know all the ins and outs of whatever I do or am considering to do. The struggle is one of the most precious aspects of the process.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an Emory-trained Physician Assistant in practice since 2005. My medical life began as a Combat medic in the US Army in 1993. This journey into the subspecialty of Nonsurgical Cosmetic Medicine began by accident around 2009. Working in Dermatology, I decided to try my hand at Botox, filler, etc. I thought if I like it and I perform well, then maybe I will do more; if not, no worries…and well it’s 2023, and here we are. I was raised in the world of academia, science, and evidence-based medicine, thus my Aesthetic practice revolves around these tenets. I was fortunate enough early in my career to have worked with, been mentored by some of the finest and best in the world; this also formed by approach to practice now.

I am known for innovation, technique, and outcomes. I have always been on the cutting edge of technique and technology. That being said, just because it’s new doesn’t mean it’s good, and just because you can do it doesn’t mean it should be done. Pride myself on safe, reliable products, technology, and techniques that provide superior outcomes and patient satisfaction.

I am very proud that (R)Evolution was bestowed with Best Medspa Decatur the past two years running, I was featured as a Who’s Who Atlanta 2023 and Best Injectors in the SouthEast 2023. On the innovation front, we are the only practice in Georgia to offer the EndoLift laser which a minimally invasive laser that allows us to burn fat and tighten tissue, all over the body, including tough-to-treat areas such as the eyelids, under eye bags, double chin, etc. We can now perform this in the office and possibly spare patients a surgical intervention.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I am a voracious reader. I have 4-6 books going at any one time, these include not only reading for pleasure, but medical texts, medical literature, and studies and papers. I am a fan of the Blinkist app when I want to catch up on a quick book.
