Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Vercetti.
Mike, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised in Flint, Michigan! We didnt have a lot of opportunities or resources to stay out of trouble, so I had to find what made me happy ultimately. I started creating art early, at like age 7, starting with comic books, stories, and just drawing a lot. As I got older, my love for art starting to evolve more and more, so I started to make music, take pictures, shoot & edit videos, and design clothes. I always used art as a form of expression to say what I wanted to say or how I felt without actually speaking on it. I started making music at age 14, and I started to take my clothing line seriously at age 21 ($KYDWELLERS CLOTHING). Vercetti Visuals was started in 2014 to help other aspiring artists and entrepreneurs with visual services for their businesses because I knew it would be a massive demand from that point forward, and with being a creator myself, I understood how difficult it was to handle visual services on your own.
Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing worth having comes easy! No, it has not been a super smooth ride, but it also hasn’t been a turbulence filled flight. The hardest part about it is actually DOING IT! Staying consistent is the most difficult thing for me personally because I CREATE A LOT of content for multiple parties, including myself. Having to focus on other artist projects as well as crafting mines perfect has been a difficult balance, to say the least.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am an independent hip hop artist. I make music, and I also run and operate two businesses as well. $KYDWELLER$ Clothing Co is my street-wear clothing line. I pride myself on providing high quality, uniquely designed, fashionable designs. Vercetti Visuals is my visual services business where we specialize in (Photography, Videography, Graphic, Web,& Apparel Design). My whole goal with Vercetti Visuals is attempting to bring my client’s visions to reality! I make everything design with satisfaction for myself in mind. I wouldn’t want to give any client something I wouldn’t want somebody to present to me. I feel that all of my art sets itself apart from others due to my intricately detailing and intentionally trying to separate my vision from the others. I try to be as personal as possible when it comes to creating, so it has no choice but to stand apart! I am most proud of the progress we reached. This didn’t come overnight.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think it is perfect. The Atlanta area is ideal for music, fashion, film, and entertainment. It has been prominent in all those industries in the past 10-20 years, in my opinion. If somebody were into the same things as me, I’d advise the ATL area for starters. It is plenty of opportunities, plenty of networking events, and like minded people as well. It is super easy to brand yourself in areas like this. At the moment, there is nothing Atlanta can do to improve, in my opinion, where I come from its SUPER HARD, haha.
