Today we’d like to introduce you to Milan Amani.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The brand has been in business for almost two years now. I thought of the idea of the company March of 2016 and launched it three months later. My first Pop-Up shop was in July with over 100+ entrepreneurs in attendance; this is where I found my niche of hosting events. I went back to the drawing board on how the New Atlanta could expand and December 2016 the brand through its very first party… ‘’ Stunt For A Purpose’’. The red carpet themed event was a complete success as it was hosted by Atlanta Radio Host FlyGuyDC and had performances by local artist such as Malachaie, Vedo, and Torian. Since it was around Christmas time we asked for gift donations for the following week when we donated all of them to Carrie Steele Pitts Foster Home. The overall experience definitely was an eye opener but only the beginning to what we have to offer now.
For our two year anniversary, WeAreTheNewAtlanta.com has officially just re-launched. My vision for this go-round was to provide a digital platform spotlighting and showcasing everything New In Atlanta. From Restaurants, Upcoming Brands, all the way to Music Artist. Over the past year, I have been blessed to work with young talented – Atlanta based photographers such as TTP Productions & Tyrone King. They now serve as New Atlanta Media Team capturing and taking part in local industry events on my behalf. In addition to running my own company, I have two critical and time-sensitive events/projects under my belt. One is called 50/50, a year-long mentoring program in partnership with Tofi-International, pairing fifty young girls in the city of Atlanta to fifty mentors. The other is my partnership with The Village Market ATL where I will be curating “ New Atlanta Villages “ allowing young entrepreneurs/brands to vend and spotlight their work/products in front of over 3,000 locals. As for myself aside from NewAtlanta, I have recently graduated from Esthetician School. I plan to add Skin Care along to my trades as well as Creative Marketing and Brand Development/Management for young entrepreneurs like myself.
Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t consider anything that comes my way a challenge, its just apart of the story. Aside from everything, the best part is absolutely being able to be me. Being young and fresh to the scene definitely has its pro’s and con’s but I have people on track to keep me grounded along the way. One of my favorite quotes is: ‘’ I am a strong woman because other strong women have raised me “ simply because it’s the truth. I can for sure say my overall experience has been a lot easier than others due to the amount of support and guidance I’ve had along the way. All mostly from other strong black women entrepreneurs.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is absolutely the best place to start a business. As of this year, we are number one for the numbers of black-owned businesses as well as number one filming location in the world. The number of opportunities this city brings are endless. With hardworking, dedication and consistency – anything is possible. This city is literally what you make it.
