Today we’d like to introduce you to Chef/Owner Mimmo Alboumeh.
Chef Mimmo, please share your story with us.
Since our Grand Opening in 2011, we have created a casual, family-friendly and fun environment for folks to experience our own unique spin on Mexican dishes.
We use only the freshest top-quality ingredients, most of which are local and organic. That’s what makes us special and different. Aside from our guests (which we love like family), the quality of our food is always our top priority.
We are very proud to support our food and beverage product providers and organic local growers. Not only does buying local support our community, but it guarantees that everything we get is always fresh.
Tacos are our specialty, but we’re not your typical Mexican joint. We combine the best fresh local ingredients to my home-made sauces to make a taco addict feel right at home. We have gluten-free options, as well.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The toughest part of the restaurant industry now is finding people who want to work.
Please tell us about Red Pepper Taqueria.
I have more than 20 years of experience in the culinary industry. Born in Lebanon, I grew up in Spain and spent time in Italy before moving to Georgia. A trendsetter, I am also become known for my creative vision and ability to introduce new cooking and cocktail trends to the market.
Each of my concepts is a direct reflection of my dedication and passion for always going above and beyond.
Considered one of Atlanta’s top dining destinations for Mexican cuisine, at Red Pepper Taqueria, I have redefined the typical Mexican dining experience by offering signature dishes bursting with flavor using locally sourced and organic ingredients, an unparalleled tequila selection, brunch options, signature cocktails and much more. Red Pepper is well-known and loved for its Bottomless Mimosas during brunch.
With a philanthropic heart, I am active in each community where I have a restaurant and regularly hosts charitable events and initiatives in an effort to give back.
In fact, I am hosting Tacos for Texas this Tuesday, a benefit for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Cooking with my grandmother, who was an excellent home chef.
