Meet Miraj

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miraj.

Miraj, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ever since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with music. I grew up on Destiny Child, Beyoncé, Alicia keys, The cheetah girls and etc.

Music has always been a big part of me. I knew that’s what I wanted to do. However, I suffered from stage fright/anxiety all my life. Until one night, I was at an open mic in July 2021, and a friend bet me $100 that I wouldn’t get on stage & sing. So me being me, I had to prove them wrong, so I got up there and sang for the first time in front of an audience. & the feeling was indescribable; it gave me such a rush & it motivated me to start writing/ working on my own music.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, not at all! It has been a crazy journey, full of ups and downs. I write all my music 100% by myself, so it takes a little longer to fully produce a project. I also do all my behind-the-scenes work, creative directing, my makeup, I’m very hands-on with my mixing & mastering of my music… and there’s been times I had to completely waste recording sessions (time and money) because I didn’t like the way my song was mixed/master.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a true ARTIST! In so many different ways. I am happiest when I am creating. I’m a singer/songwriter, & a self-taught Makeup artist!

I am most proud of my upcoming EP that will be released around November 2022! I have put my entire heart into this project literally, each song telling a story & handwritten by me. It’s so FIRE, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.

How do you think about luck?
I have had some good luck, I would say I was extremely lucky/blessed. I had made some pretty big waves with just my first song, “Slide Thru” & that was just the beginning so I know there is more good luck/fortune on its way to me.

As far as “bad luck”? I feel like everyone goes through rough patches it’s life, but I rebuke all bad luck & negativity surrounding my blessings.
