Thanks for sharing your story with us Misty. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started waxing soon after graduating. There was an all waxing spa in Midtown, they gave me a chance to learn a skill that many didn’t have interest in. Waxing is hard, there are so many things you can do incorrectly; I was awful at first. It took three months before my brain and hands synced and the light went off.
I began training new hires and later moved on to another waxing spa applying the same skills. One of my best memories was hearing a client express how gentle her service was. There I was secret shopped by a national magazine and was dubbed “The Gentle Waxer”. It’s a bit of an oxymoron but I’ll take it.
My family and I decided to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and moved ourselves to the North Georgia Mountains. I had no intention of opening a business especially in an unknown place. It will be three years July, I have two staff members who are the greatest. It’s been a journey but I’ve enjoyed every bit of it.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have definitely been a few bumps in the road, but it has allowed me to be challenged and grow. It’s all a learning process without those struggles I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Sage Wax Boutique – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Sage is a boutique spa specializing in the art of waxing. The most requested services would be Brazilian wax and brow wax, no one in the north Ga area offers head to toe wax services. As a local business in a small town I wanted to have a place where women and men felt comfortable.
We take pride offering affordable services, knowledge and extraordinary customer care.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success can be measured in many ways, for me it’s having a happy client and performing an extraordinary service. Without that you cannot be successful in this industry.
