Meet Molly Wilkins of Atlanta and Macon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Wilkins

Hi Molly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got started in the media fields, as I like to put it, while still in college. I had my first published piece in our local newspaper, The Macon Telegraph, while a sophomore in college. From there I would continue to write- eventually landing a fashion column in a magazine in Macon. I used social media to promote it back before there were professional pages. From there I worked for one of our local TV stations, 13WMAZ, running digital marketing for a daily deal page. At the same time, I kept growing my social media presence.

This social media presence has evolved tons over time, along with my website, with the different topics I’ve covered from fashion to food and travel and now more lifestyle, faith, and parenting topics (with some of the fashion and fun still sprinkled in).

I currently work full time for a nonprofit as well as adjunct lecture in Communications along with keeping my social media presence going! I believe passionately that what we need more of right now is to be positive and to take small, actionable, do-able steps of faith in action. I’m a proud member of the Episcopal church and I also get to preach on occasion.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always struggles. But I do believe that in my case that I have risen from the ashes, many times- in fact. I lean strongly on my faith and I have resources I turn to in those moments. One of my favorites is the podcast with Bishop Rob Wright of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. https://forpeople.digital/

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Gosh, I think it depends in which field! As a social media manager and content creator I am proud of the fact that I can create an online community for brands, thus increasing engagement and customer loyalty. Regarding my own social media presence, I’m proud of the fact that I can put out relatable and funny parenting content along with putting out a message of hope in the world. So many of us need that.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Oh gosh! So many to name. I started out my full time job big girl career at Enterprise Rent-a-Car, and even though I had not mentioned it my former boss Tracy Darrington is to this day STILL someone I look up to. She was someone I did not trust at first but she earned my trust and taught me how to be the kind of person that others could trust as well. I have always carried those lessons with me.

More recently, Father Ben Wells at my church, my whole church family, my actual family (lol), Easton Davis- who I have done some work with at the Diocese.

But most of all my kids. I am the best part of me because of them. I would say more but it would embarrass them- and if they read this someday- I love y’all!
