Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Devlin.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Monica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I began my business in July 2016 with just an Instagram page and an idea to write resumes as an additional source of income for me and my son. I knew I wanted to make money from home because I did not want to have to ever work a second physical job again and knew I wanted a business that gave me the freedom to create my own schedule. Fast forward to now, my business a grown from not only professional writing services but to a virtual assistant and social media management business. Actually, as of August 21st this month, I will officially be a full-time work from home entrepreneur, within my business. My business provides me an opportunity to work from anywhere and it also allows me the convenience of being able to spend more time with my two sons, which has always been my goal.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not always been smooth. As a single parent, it has been a struggle to gain additional income. Before this, I worked two jobs. I was always having to work weekends and constantly having to leave my son on the weekends with my family so that I could commute to my second job. My business provided a solution for that. I’ve worked in so many different industries and I was never happy. I remember one job I had I would sit in my car depressed before I would go in. My business provided me with that sense of freedom that I had been longing for, and to be able to be full-time in my business now makes all the struggles worth it.
Teknique Savvy – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a virtually based virtual assistant and social media marketing/management boutique agency. We specialize in administrative and operations support and also social media management. Pretty much anything an entrepreneur or business needs doing virtually we can do it when it comes to administrative, operations, and marketing. Most of the referrals we have got lately have been for social media management, digital marketing, administrative support. What sets us apart is our wide array of virtual services and our commitment to our clients.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success as being able to live comfortably and do what you love on your own terms. I would say my criteria for success is living comfortably financially, achieving your goals, giving back, and having freedom in the sense of life and financially.
