Monique, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Hi,I’m Monique founder of Pretty Luxe Picnics, Pretty Luxe became just a thought last year after hosting a garden picnic to celebrate domestic violence survivors or females that was handed the wrong hand in life and have flipped it to become successful women in business and life in general.
There wasn’t a lot of Attendees to that event and I first viewed it as failure. However, I’ve always had a passion for designing and hosting dinner parties for families and friends, so after the event, while I was taking down the setup I looked at the low tables that my husband had custom made for me and saw a way to turn my lemon into the best darn lemonade! I realize that this would be a great business concept that would bring friends and families together with an added touch of elegance and provide an Intimate oasis for couples. I started to do my research and quickly realized that there wasn’t another full-service picnic company in Atlanta or a picnic company at all, which would make us Atlanta first full-service picnic company.
I nurtured the idea for a year and was given the push to launch the business after the COVID-19 pandemic. I realized that there was a great need for the services our business would provide. With COVID-19 in full effect, my husband and I realized that there was a need and longing to enjoy the outdoors with the people that mean the most to us and allow us to celebrate in an extraordinary way while still maintaining small groups.
Knowing that our picnics would be a great mental relief to the strain that comes with this pandemic and realizing that our services were needed my husband handmade two small tables for us and with a leap of faith I posted a few pictures in a women’s group that I am apart of (Werk University) an amazing group that teaches women to change their mindset and use their gifts to gain wealth. The support that we received gave me the boost I needed to take this unique business concept to the public. We have received so many support from our community and everyone in general. Our aim is to provide an unparalleled experience with every picnic setup we create. So far, we have been successful in this new business venture.
Has it been a smooth road?
Our journey had many learning curves as with all new business ventures, we had to learn ways of adding value to our guests with each picnic that we have created. Such as how convenient it is to have a portable charging port for our guests to charge their phones ensuring that they are fully charged up to take pictures of their beautiful setup until their heart’s content. To small things as adding take away containers so that our guest doesn’t have to leave with our chafing dish because the food was too good to leave the leftovers!! (we have seriously had this happen to us lol, we met up with the client the next day to retrieve our dish 🙂 yes, we go the extra mile for our guests.) we also had to pivot and learn new and smarter ways of transporting and setting up our picnics.

What I’m most proud of as a company is the look of pure joy and love when our guest walks up to their picnic experience or when a picnic is reveal to a spouse, it’s like I get Happy tears every time! Proud that I’ve taken what would be considered a failure if I had seen the glass half empty instead of the other way around. Pretty Luxe Picnics is not your average picnic company, we are Atlanta’s first full-service Luxury picnic company, specializing in creating upscale and unique intimate picnics, from a sophisticated high-class afternoon tea picnic with the girls to a romantic & intimate picnic or dinner in the park that igniting the love between two people. We are also now offering overnight picnic experiences! We want our picnic experiences to be fun with a lot of elegance added.

We offer a few packages. However, our popular package is our Luxe standard picnic, which gets you 3hrs and a complete picnic set up to enjoy. Our second most popular is our Luxe romance package, which comes with a bottle of champagne and a dozen red roses. We also offer upgrades on our picnic packages that provide a more exclusive experience, such as our Luxe white gloves waiter service allowing you to fully enjoy your guest if you have upgraded to a meal option. Adding our famous champagne wall for an added touch of elegance, our guests also have the option of choosing from a variety of lawn games to add to their picnic setups. We have also added the exclusive option of a overnight picnic experience to our list of packages!
All of our picnic packages includes a grazing board, games to enjoy during your experience, Our Luxe Romance package comes with different card games suitable for couples. Our company offers convenience for our customers once you are done at a pre-determined time, our Pretty luxe staff arrive, scoop up everything you walk away. Nothing to carry back to your car except whatever you may have brought with you.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
There’s so much to love about Atlanta! Atlanta is a melting pot of culture, diversity and history. So many inspirational leaders that has gone before us and paved the way for us to follow. I love all the beautiful parks of course lol. We are a culture that’s full of vibes and different ways of expressing Ourselves. What do I like the least? I honestly cannot think of much that I dislike other than the traffic lol overall we are beautiful city.
