Meet Monique Hicks Harrison of Vitality Med Spa and Plastic Surgery Center in Suwanee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Hicks Harrison.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Monique. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Vitality Med Spa opened in 2011 with a small office in Grayson. We specialized in medical weight loss and quickly added to cosmetic injectable to the practice. We added a laser department and cosmetic injectable to the practice to focus on whole body wellness. We quickly grew and expanded to a second location in Buford. After 5 years in business, we decided to move both locations into one state of the art facility in Suwanee Town Center. We have also established ourselves as a training site for practitioners looking to advance their careers in the cosmetic and wellness arena. Lastly, we added Plastic Surgery and Dr. Kristin Boehm to the practice in 2016. We have an incredible staff of talented professionals who pride themselves in keeping up with industry trends and making sure that we are always providing the best for our clients. We have established ourselves as the gold standard in the industry for all procedures involving the face and body. We look forward to 2017 in out new location to grow and continue to expand our service offerings and clientele.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Struggles along the way have mostly been related to software keeping up with the technology and trends of the market. Our industry is growing and changing everyday and the software available to cosmetic medical offices cannot keep up with the demand. Our staff has also had to keep up with the growing trends. However, we are often sought after to test new devices and products to the market because of our expert level staff.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Personally, the proudest moment was when I won the Gwinnett Woman Owned Small Business of the Year Award in October 2016. I felt very proud to be nominated for such an honor.

The proudest moment I have felt for my staff is their continued wins for Best of Spa, Best of Laser Hair Removal and Best of Beauty Bar in 2103, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Year after Year, my staff continue to be recognized by the community as leaders in their field.
