Today we’d like to introduce you to Mont’e Millions.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am an international recording artist and son to the late Legendary Betty Wright. I have released my first single April 10th called Sally which is about my horse. The single has streamed over 100,000 thousand streams in a three months time span. I am also the founder of the Betty WRIGHT Foundation where we help aspired artists to go to a music university. You can find out more about me at www.montemillions.com I have two more singles to be released July 31st called “Really” and “Hundred Bands”. My goal is to make people aware about music and career along with my many businesses and to also keep my mom’s legacy alive.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The pandemic has really stopped my tour dates and other things planned for my music career however, I was able to do a live stream concert April 4th for the front line first responders and raised 6,000 for the workers who risked their lives during this period of COVID 19. I am continuing to do social media interviews and currently working on music videos for my songs.
Please tell us about King of Diamonds.
I am very well rounded. I own my own record label and also car washes and cattle business. I own a beauty salon and a Restaurant. I am very proud to have followed in my mom’s footsteps as she was the first black women to have 500,000 copies of her music sold on her own record label in the 80’s album entitled “Mother Wit”. Owning my own label and having over 100,000 streams in a three months time span has helped me to go harder and drive for a greater success. Owning my own business has helped me as well to help out for other minorities dreams and aspirations.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I loved to write music and sing and hang in the studio with my mom and aunt Yvonne Jackson an international blues artist who won fame in the 90’s with her album I’m trouble. I loved to sing in the local talent shows in Miami, FL at my schools and participate in community events such as Martin Luther King day.
