Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan and Jay Jackson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I unofficially started wedding planning with my own wedding. At the time in 2011, we were living in Nashville, TN planning a wedding in Detroit, MI. We drove to Detroit every weekend for four months straight doing our best to plan our own wedding. We successfully planned the event; we helped all our friends plan their weddings and milestone events as well.
Fast forward a few years later, our friend told us she booked us for her coworker’s wedding. Family & friends were one thing, but a complete stranger trusting us with their biggest day of her life was beyond uncomfortable for us. Needless to say, we planned and executed her wedding successfully, and Her Signature Events was born.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of our major hurdles was understanding who our customer base would be.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Her Signature Events story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a wedding planner, event designer, and florist. My specialty is gorgeous wedding decor/ design. I’m known for thinking out of the box with event design but keeping it budget-friendly at the same time. As a company, I’m most proud of being able to serve our various clients while still being versatile with styles. What sets my business apart from others is we’re actually a husband/ wife team, and we provide excellent customer service.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Well I don’t like to say “luck,“ but we’re blessed to know and have so many people refer us to clients. All of our clients are awesome!
