Meet Morgan Worrell of Unveiled Princess Inc. in College Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Worrell.

Morgan Worrell, CEO of Unveiled Princess, is here for one job and one job only, to help young ladies all over Atlanta channel into their inner princess. Born and raised in College Park, Worrell felt like there was limited space for her in the world. Growing up, she carried all the baggage of negativity -such as being a heavy set, African American woman from an area that was considered dangerous and poor. At the age of twenty-seven, she finally decided that it was time to face her demons. While trying to overcome her problems, it made her wonder, how many girls are having the same issues? Thus, in December 2015, Unveiled Princess came to light. “The purpose of Unveiled Princess is to give girls a platform to be themselves, regardless of what society or other try to tell them to be”, says Worrell. “That’s why I name it ‘Unveiled Princess’ because it is to unveil the real you and the inner you that you should let sparkle from the inside and out”, Ms. Worrell added.

Unveiled Princess is a mentoring program that is designed to help young girls acknowledge who they are or find who they are, by guiding them on a path of self-love and love for others. “Even though I make mistakes, I try to lead by example for my girls, because I know that they are watching me”, Morgan stated. Within the program, the girls range from 10 to 18 years of age. So, many of the girls are recruited by parents, school, church and even other organizations. However, Unveiled Princess does not stop there. Even after graduating, the program still offers aid to its members that attend college and even helps with admission fees, scholarships, counseling and additional information that students or parents may need. Meanwhile, for the girls that are still in school, Unveiled Princess hosts sleepovers, group outings, and other activities to help all the girls bond with one another. Also, the program annually hosts “A Diva’s Guide to Prom”, which is where Unveiled Princess provides girls with hair, nails, make-up, shoes and prom dresses for their prom. Unveiled Princess has plenty to offer to young ladies across Atlanta. They also send out a beneficial message to young girls as well. “At the end of the day, self-love is the best love and if you don’t love yourself, you will struggle to try to accept love”, quoted Ms. Worrell.

Has it been a smooth road?
This has not been easy when you are a mentor to so many young women you can sometimes lose who you are, and jealousy from there parents when all I wanted to do was give the young girls love and attention.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Unveiled Princess Inc story. Tell us more about the business.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
To be honest the non-profit industry is what you make it you have to keep your head up and remember your mission and your purpose.
