Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Venice.
Nadia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I was about 5 or 6 years old, my older cousin taught me how to write songs and sing. She wanted me and my other cousin to be little child protégés. She planted the seed and as I grew older I continued to write and sing to perfect my craft. For the longest time, writing and singing music was simply a catharsis for me. But I finally decided to start releasing music around 20 years old.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Pursuing a career in music has definitely not been easy. I’ve noticed that having cultivating a team is a lot easier said than done for certain people. But having one definitely makes it easier to be consistent in putting out content. You also meet a lot of scammers along the way that promise you the dream but really just want your money. It’s important to have discernment in this industry and to honestly not be too hungry for fame. That kind of mentality usually hurts you in the long run and also doesn’t garner a lot of respect from people in the industry. At this point, I have cultivated a bit of a team and I’ve come a long way. There’s been a lot of ups and downs over the years but I’m pretty happy where I’m at. I’m excited for the content I have on the way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a singer/songwriter and I’m also a content creator. Music is my biggest passion out of everything. But I also love speaking on camera and cinematography. The content I’ve created thus far doesn’t fully capture what I’d like to put out, but I’m happy that I’ve still been active with it. I think most people that create content simply do it for quick fame, virality, or to grow their audience as an artist. To each their own, but my passion for content creation developed when I came across creators that were a bit different than the trendy ones and raw and honest about their lives. Completely unfiltered, funny, and intelligent. I would see comments about how some of their viewers felt like they had a friend through the screen simply because of how vulnerable these creators were. I like to call it digital altruism. And became very passionate about the idea of providing that sense of escapism through content as well as music.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
At the moment, what matters most to me is being the most optimal person I can be so I have optimal interpersonal relationships in my life. I’ve been through a lot in the past, and I believe those experiences have helped me become better in some ways but it’s also come with some traits I really want to either eradicate or lessen. I truly believe healthy interpersonal relationships is crucial to a healthy well-balanced life and it affects everything. Careers, friendships, romance, and even the small encounters. As far as music, it heavily affects this too. Which is another reason why I want to improve. I’ve been trying to come out of my shell more and stop trying to focus on the past so much. I think a lot of us tend to do that which holds us back from being the person we’re aiming to be. I’m just trying to take it one day at a time.
