Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadja Warith.
Nadja, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Choiices Started from a combination of my personal life experience and experiences of some of my friends. I wanted to show the different types of situations that we go thru in the LGBTQ community with a twist. Back in 2016 I sat down with my partner and said you know what I want to write a series and at first I was afraid because I didn’t know how too but I prayed about it and I started my process!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely been a rough road when I started I only had one camera no lights no audio nothing and at the time I was still working on my script. I started to get discouraged because I was getting a lot of mental blocks and I couldn’t find people who wanted to be apart of the cast and on top of that I knew nothing about videography, but slowly and surely everything started coming together. I found my cast and a videographer I had a family friend gift me with lights and some other filming gadgets and I am now finishing up with my Season 2 of my show a year later. I hit a lot of bumps in this process but I’m thankful because the road can only get smoother from here!
Choiices The Series – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I feel the thing that sets Choiices apart from other series is that I’m telling stories that are not only true but aren’t common in the community I speak on topics that other people may shy away from or aren’t interested in acknowledging it. That is the one thing that makes me so proud about my show reading the viewer comments and them telling me how my show helps them whether they are Trans or Abused even dating another stud they tell me that we are opening people eyes to things that we as a community don’t talk about.
If you had to start over, what would you have done differently?
I wouldn’t change a thing …. only because I went thru all of this stuff for a reason, the ups and downs days where I wanted to quit or felt as if my cast wanted to quit I went thru that for me to be able to get to the next level and I don’t regret it at all it has made me stronger and has prepared me for my greater.
