Meet Naelyn Colette of Atlanta, Ga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naelyn Colette

Naelyn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
There were countless times in my life when I felt lost, unsure of my path, and desperately in need of someone to not just listen but truly hear me. I longed for guidance through the chaos, but often, I had to learn to be my own guide. My journey has been anything but linear, it has been marked by loss, resilience, and self-discovery.

As a young child, after I lost my family, I moved between different families and facilities before finally being adopted into a challenging home environment, all leaving deep scars. As a teenager, I experienced the trauma of being attacked, an event that shaped my understanding of safety and resilience. Then later in my teens, I faced the heartache of feeling compelled to give up my firstborn for adoption. In my young adulthood, I went through the struggles of a divorce and navigated the challenges of coming out of the closet and embracing my true self, all while raising two beautiful children. All of my experiences, while painful, were pivotal; they taught me how to heal, find my voice, and stand in my authenticity.

Professionally, I have worked across a variety of industries, film, music, marketing, hospice, mental health, politics, entrepreneurship, and customer service, all of which have given me a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I’ve learned how to listen deeply, empathize authentically, and advocate fiercely for others.

Through it all, my life has been a series of lessons, each moment of struggle shaping me into someone who not only understands pain but also knows how to transform it into growth. Today, I strive to be the person I once needed for others, a listener, a guide, and someone who truly sees and hears the people I’m fortunate enough to work with. My journey, with all its twists and turns, has given me the tools to help others find their way, just as I found mine.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has certainly not been smooth, and it’s been filled with unexpected obstacles. One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced was learning to navigate life on my own after years of feeling abandoned and disconnected. The journey of finding myself and my purpose was not straightforward, it was full of moments where I had to redefine who I was and what I wanted from life.

Along the way, I’ve had to overcome the emotional toll of losing close relationships, managing financial instability, and constantly reinventing myself to stay relevant in a rapidly changing world. There were times when I felt completely overwhelmed, especially when balancing the demands of work, personal growth, and being there for my children.

One of the hardest parts of my journey was trusting myself after repeated setbacks. I had to learn not to let fear or past experiences dictate my future. Every struggle has been a lesson, though, and while none of it was easy, it’s helped me build resilience, clarity, and a deeper understanding of what I want to achieve moving forward.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in helping people navigate life’s challenges through a nontraditional approach, offering coaching that is both compassionate and practical. While I am a certified life coach and not a licensed therapist, I draw on my own life experiences and a deep understanding of human behavior to provide guidance that is uniquely tailored to each individual. My work focuses on empowerment, helping others find their voice, guiding them to heal from past wounds, and move forward with confidence.

I’m known for my ability to listen deeply and offer insights that blend empathy with actionable strategies. What sets me apart is the combination of my diverse career experiences, personal growth journey, and a nonclinical, holistic and spiritual approach to coaching. I’m proud of the genuine connections I’ve made and the impact I’ve had in helping people transform their lives by recognizing their potential and finding solutions to challenges that once seemed overwhelming.

Above all, I’m most proud of creating a space where people feel truly heard and understood, and where they can confidently take the next steps toward their goals. My nontraditional approach and unwavering authenticity are what set me apart in the field of coaching.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was the same in many ways as I am today, and my childhood friends often say I haven’t changed much. I’ve always had a sharp sense of humor and a knack for sarcasm that kept things interesting. While school itself was never really my thing, and often difficult, I absolutely loved learning. I had my own nonconventional way of diving into topics that interested me, researching on my own terms and following my curiosity wherever it led.

I was also naturally empathetic, the friend people turned to when they needed advice or just someone to listen. I loved connecting with people, making them laugh, and finding ways to uplift them. Creativity and exploration were central to who I was, I spent hours imagining, writing, or finding new ways to express myself.

In many ways, the person I was as a kid and those experiences I had laid the groundwork for the person I’ve become: a curious, compassionate, and quick-witted individual who values learning and connection above all else.
