Nafeel Ahmed, founder of the popular Ibiza lounge bar in Duluth, Atlanta, always had an entrepreneurial spirit and a gift when it came to recognizing opportunity. Right from an early age, he carried the spirit of leadership and was confident in his social skills. Today, he is well known for having made Ibiza Bar & Lounge one of Atlanta’s & Gwinnett’s most popular international party spots.
Reflecting back on his past, Nafeel says he never missed even a single chance to make his friends and family members feel special on their special days. Marketing became a passion for him while he was in high school. Even before social media was well known, Nafeel worked hard to achieve something great. For instance, he knew the marketing power of distributing flyers, collecting emails, using AIM, MSN, AOL., Yahoo and so on. He was a marketing genius from the start.
Nafeel’s vision was to make the place a number 1 party destination in the world, where people can relax and enjoy and have fun with their dear ones. Subsequently, Nafeel got all the help he needed from his amazing team to support him and work with him all the way.
Hard work pays off, and Ibiza is now successful only because of Nafeel and his hard work and the passion and dedication he has displayed through his days of struggle. The entrepreneur inside him will go on to produce many such achievements in the future
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No one gets the cherry on top of the cake right away, and Nafeel was no exception. He continued to strive despite opposing views and stayed persistent to overcome his hardships. Since Nafeel hails from the Middle East and is a Muslim, his father was disappointed and refused to support his career choice in promoting nightclubs and most importantly, consuming alcohol since these practices were all against his culture and religious convictions.

What are your plans for the future?
I’m looking forward to expanding in the next few years. Gwinnett is the melting pot of diversity here in Georgia but we want to bring this type of diversity all over the city. Doing so by opening up more restaurants and lounges where people can have great, memorable experiences.
