Today we’d like to introduce you to Nahsha Rivers.
Nahsha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I always struggled with finding something I was good at as far as a hobby. My grandmother passed away in 2007 and left behind all of her jewelry, it wasn’t until 2016 when my cousin and I decided to finally go through my grandmother’s items.
My cousin and I decided we wanted to make the women in our family a bracelet using pieces of her jewelry so everyone could have a piece of her with them. I did not expect for the bracelets to come out as pretty as they did. At that point, I finally figured out what my passion was. From that moment, I decided to make a business out of it, the original goal was to make just memorabilia bracelets for people like I did for my grandmother. Then I realized that I can actually do any type of bracelet and it doesn’t have to be just one specific thing.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. The obstacles that I face are trying to juggle a full-time job to help maintain myself and fund my business. The challenges of trying to find a job that paid enough to fund my business and pay my bills and also a job that give me the flexibility I needed as far as a schedule so that I would be able to still work on my business. I had to learn that my purpose of working is mainly for TheePinkPalace. I had to learn to use my job as an avenue to help me in my business. Learn as much as I can in my job and lose the mindset of just thinking I need this job just to pay bills and fund my business I had to change my mindset about it.
TheePinkPalace – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I customize bracelets, I specialize in memorabilia jewelry. When someone Inquires about a bracelet, I always like to know a little history behind why they are asking for this particular bracelet so I can make it custom to their situation. I put love and feelings into making a bracelet for my customers. I think that is what sets me apart from the rest. It’s all about making them feel happy and proud to wear their bracelets. I am very proud at how quickly TheePinkPalace took off. I didn’t expect for customers, my family and friends to show as much love as they did and still do. It’s amazing how much support and love TheePinkPalace gets. I’m so proud of that.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment, I think is when I made my first $1,000. It happened so quickly I didn’t even realize it until I looked back on all of my transactions. To know that just a few years ago, I was so discouraged because I didn’t know what I was good at to now I’m celebrating for my my first $1,000 for finding my passion. That is such an amazing feeling for me.
