Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started with a dream. One night, I had a dream about my daughter not wanting to share and suddenly woke up to the words of the story, the title, the character, and the character’s name. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced. After all, it was the middle of the night and I was half-asleep, but the story was so clear. Once I finished writing the words, I woke my husband up and read it to him. He couldn’t believe what I had written and immediately said, ‘I think you have something special.’ I knew an encounter like this could only be from God and it still gives me chills every time I tell the story. Although I did not know where to begin, I knew I had to see it through. Who knew this dream would lead to getting my 1st children’s book, Mine, Mine, Mine- A Lesson in Sharing, published and so much more! This encounter also gave me the courage to launch Ashanti Dreams, LLC, to not only leave a legacy for my daughter, Sydney but to also bridge the gap of positive representation for children of all races and origins.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting here has not been easy, but I am grateful for the journey and lessons learned along the way. The first hurdle was figuring out the book process, which was completely new and foreign to me. The second hurdle was starting a business and the third and most challenging hurdle was getting out of my own way. I’ve learned through the process, that I am stronger and more resilient than I could have ever imagined.

Ashanti Dreams, LLC specializes in creating positive content that will inspire young minds to discover their superpower within. It is an organization that recognizes the importance of positive representation, images, and affirmations. The brand was created with the intent to encourage generations to be bold, brave and unapologetic about the pursuit of bursting through the various ceilings, challenges, and limitations in life. Creating relatable and timeless stories matter. I am most proud of the footprint and example I am leaving for my daughter and the other special people in my life. Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a healthcare business professional, wife, and mother, but most people would be surprised to know that I am an avid traveler, certified meditator, and mentor. I also enjoy cooking, long walks on the beach, and a beautiful sunset. Overall, I enjoy bringing people together to uplift the community and impact change.
