Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Edwards.
Hi Natasha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started Natasha’s Thread LLC in 2017, at that time I was in a transition in my life that made me seek out my heart’s desires. I attended celebrity fashion stylist J. Bolin’s first Fashion Boot Camp in Dallas, TX. I had just enough money to purchase a plane ticket and thankfully I had a place to stay for free. It was a leap of faith for me to attend. I was chosen out of numerous candidates, so I just had to make it happen by any means necessary. It’s one of the best decisions I have made to help launch Natasha’s Thread LLC. I started styling clients as I worked a full-time job, all while getting my MBA in Digital Entrepreneurship. I launched an online boutique at the end of 2018, and tragically my mother passed away at the beginning of 2019. My online boutique was put on hold as I grieved my mother’s death. My mother was one of my fashion icons growing up. So, launching my fashion business, was a huge accomplishment that my mother got to witness before she passed away. And that meant a lot to me, and with that said I will continue to move forward because of her. Today my vision is to style your everyday woman, according to her lifestyle. My dream for my online boutique is to provide sustainable fashion that represents women who love high-end clothing that they can wear with pride. My future goals are to start a fashion line named after my mother, that represents the European fashion that she would wear when I was in my youth.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Lots of ups and down. More downs than up! The up’s have been moments have high of fashion and excitement. My purpose in being a stylist is to beautify women no matter what shape, size, or background. Needless to say, it hasn’t been consistent, and that is where the down part of it. The struggle of maintaining clients and sometimes getting clients is hard. People have to see the value in having a personal stylist. The struggle in having an online boutique is maintaining the inventory and the marketing involved where just starting out is a one-man’s show. I have invested in so many seminars of how to start your online boutique, but at the end of the day, it’s all about sacrificing your time until you can have a team.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Professionally I work as an Account Manager for FinTech company, I am pretty much a digital entrepreneur for their bulk buying website that is dedicated to B2B customers. I love that my job lines up with my business Natasha’s Thread, and that it’s giving me so much insight on how to manage CRM and operations such as Marketing, Compliance, and Accounting Reports.
As I run Natasha’s Thread Fashion Consultant company, focusing on styling women who are ready to have a signature look for their lifestyle or next level of achievements in their lives. I am huge believer that your appearance matters, and can get the attention you need to go to another level because you feel great! I specialize in styling women who need assistance in their wardrobe for an events or business meetings or personal lifestyles. I am mostly proud of starting a fashion stylist business while working a corporate job and getting an MBA degree.
What sets me apart is that I love to style women according to their individual personalities and style. I don’t want to take from someone’s personality to try to make them look like someone that they are not. I just want to enhance their style according to who they are and according to their destiny. My wardrobe makeover service is all about a woman having a wardrobe that throughout the year she can style herself.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are to relaunch my online boutique that will have a styling service. This time around my fashion apparel will be sustainable fashion for your everyday look. In the future, my plans are to have Luxury Pop-up fashion theme events, where people come to hang out and network and have a great time. I’ve also started a YouTube channel, Faith + Fashion https://tinyurl.com/4aazc9s7 product being worked on as we speak 😉 stay tuned.
