Meet Nattalie Cornwall of Nattsells Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nattalie Cornwall

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born on the small island of Grenada in the West Indies — one of 11 kids. From a young age, I knew my dreams were too big for an island with a population of just over 110,000 people.

I was bitten by the real estate bug during my second job in Grenada, where I worked for a building supplies and hardware company. One of the brothers who owned the business was a major investor in hotels and real estate on the island, and watching how they navigated the industry sparked something in me.

Even though my passion was real estate, I went on to study accounting and finance in college. But after graduating in 2006, I quickly realized that working for someone else — being told when, what, and how to do things — just wasn’t for me. That’s when I decided to get my real estate license, and the rest is history… well, not quite.

Getting into the industry allowed me to see firsthand how powerful real estate is as an investment. But like so many others, the 2007-2008 market crash forced me back into corporate America. Even then, I stayed focused on my goal and started investing heavily in real estate. My long-term plan was to build enough passive income to retire early. Since the market was still down in 2010-2012, I was able to scoop up some amazing investment properties — and honestly, that decision changed everything.

Real estate has been so good to me, and I’m grateful that it’s allowed me to help others build wealth and achieve their own homeownership dreams. Looking back, it’s been quite a journey — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not! The road has been anything but smooth.

When I first moved to Atlanta, starting my business was incredibly challenging. I didn’t have a large network or community here to tap into for business, so my first couple of years were tough — I barely made any money. Eventually, I took on property management just to bring in some income, but even that wasn’t enough to fully cover my living expenses.

On the investment side, I learned a lot of hard lessons — mostly through trial and error. I made plenty of mistakes when it came to tenant placements, choosing the right types of properties, and even hiring contractors for my renovation projects. While those missteps hurt financially, they also gave me invaluable experience that I still apply in my business today.

One of the biggest lessons I learned came early in my investing journey. I purchased a couple of properties without doing proper due diligence, only to find out afterward that they had rental caps and restrictions. This completely derailed my buy-and-hold strategy since I couldn’t rent them out as intended. I ended up having to sell those properties, which was a tough — and expensive — lesson.

While those experiences were challenging, they shaped me as a business owner and investor. The setbacks may have slowed me down at times, but they ultimately taught me how to make smarter decisions and build a stronger, more resilient business. Looking back, I’m grateful for the lessons because they’ve helped me become the agent and investor I am today.

We’ve been impressed with Nattsells Real Estate, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business, NattSells, specializes in guiding homebuyers — whether they’re first-time buyers, or seasoned homeowners — through the purchasing process. I also help homeowners sell their properties and work closely with investors, thanks to my own investment experience.

What sets me apart is my focus on education and transparency. I ensure my clients fully understand the process, so they’re never left wondering what’s next. Rather than rushing transactions for a quick commission, I take the time to understand my clients’ goals and guide them with logic and knowledge.

This client-first approach has built my business on referrals and repeat clients.
Nattalie is the agent of choice for those who value quality, integrity, and experience, I take pride in delivering exceptional service.

Real estate is my passion — from sales and investing to design and renovations — and I’m grateful to be doing what I love every day.

How do you think about happiness?
Happiest Memories in Real Estate

Some of my happiest memories in real estate come from helping young moms, especially single moms, purchase their first home or guiding someone who’s the first in their family to become a homeowner.

There are a few transactions that will always stay close to my heart — moments where, during the final walkthrough, a mom or family brings their kids to surprise them with their new room. The emotions in those moments are so raw and unforgettable. Being a part of that experience fills my heart and reminds me why I love what I do.
