Meet Neal Scott

Today we’d like to introduce you to Neal Scott.

Neal, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a health & wellness expert who has worked in communities and schools delivering services to men, women and children in need of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual guidance. For many years, I gave special importance to the concept of achieving optimum health as a whole within all dimensions of wellness. My belief in the notion that good physical health often contributes to good mental health emboldened me to cultivate a practice of total wellness to include mental health, physical fitness, emotional nourishment and spiritual well-being. I indelibly possess an earnest desire to inspire, uplift and serve others on their path to discovering wholeness and meaning.

I am a certified counselor with a Master’s degree from Clark Atlanta University as well as a NASM certified personal trainer and nutrition consultant.  I have owned and operated MindWorx Total Wellness for the past 7 years.  My overall mission in business was to provide holistic health and coaching services that will empower people to take complete charge of their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.  With several years of experience in the health & wellness field, I was blessed with the opportunity to join Spelman College as Fitness Coordinator.  After a year, I was promoted to Assistant Director of Campus Wellness.

My journey so far has been full of ups and downs.  However, I am here today because I was divinely guided in every step of the way.  I have always believed in a higher power greater than myself and no matter how tough life gets I always stood strong on my faith in God. Today, I am actively evolving through my belief that everything happens for a reason and in God’s perfect time.

James 1:4 “And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

Has it been a smooth road?
My path has been rocky, dark and stormy all in the same season.  I fought many battles and had to overcome deep emotional pain.  I believe through the redemptive love of God, I was saved and brought home out of the wilderness. Despite severe hardships, the supernatural power of Christ Jesus opened my heart and mind to the conscious awareness of God’s presence.  I was made aware that a better way existed on a foundation higher and greater than my condition and life circumstances.

Proverbs 21:2 declares, “People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart”.  God knew my heart needed to be cleansed and purified. I was deeply disturbed by worldly desires and activities.  Therefore, I needed his word to break every bondage and shift my mind into his way of thinking and living.

Once I allowed God’s word to search the character of my heart, I was gracefully developed and strengthened by his loving-kindness.  I surrendered and gave up doing things my way in order to inherit God’s riches on a path of forgiveness and renewal. Thus, I found hope, peace, joy and freedom as I learned to walk in the Spirit of God.   I’m grateful that he lovingly, thoughtfully and graciously intervened into my life.  God removed undesirable elements and cast down strongholds of anxiety, depression, fear and temptation.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a newly published Author of The Rosebud: Growing in the Light.  I’m also an Inspirational Speaker and Transformation Coach working to advance God’s kingdom agenda.  As a child of God, I’ve learned to apply his word to my daily life.  This is the highest purpose of advancing his kingdom agenda.  My life has been transformed by a renewing of the mind.  Thus, my God-given assignment is to spread the Good News about his unfailing love and faithfulness.

My mission is a call to salvation brought about by faith in Christ. I have been chosen to share my story of redemption and deliverance from the pit of fear and anxiety.  God has instructed me to reach those who are lost and suffering in the world today.  I hope my testimony will guide people into becoming divinely rooted and inspired by the love, faith and wisdom of our Lord and Savior.  His kingdom rules over all.

God has set me on a path that will allow me to use my gifts, talents and abilities to speak truth to his power.  He has given me knowledge and understanding of his word so I can coach others on the principles he wants us to live by.  I’ve been given the spiritual gift of exhortation to help establish an intimacy between God and his people by proclaiming his power and amazing work in Christ.  I’ve been called to uplift and motivate others as well as give hope for the future glory that will be revealed in fostering spiritual growth.

The goal is to encourage everyone to learn the process of building up on God’s foundation while he takes care of their needs.  A key part of my mission is to help shift them away from disappointments, setbacks and loss so they can begin following in the way of Love, Faith and Wisdom.

“Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it.” (1 Corinthians 3:10)

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I wholeheartedly believe it is the right place because there are people all over the city who are lost and suffering in the world. I know some people feel as though they don’t have a way out. Some people are truly living their life based on the means of what the world has offered them. They don’t see the future. They don’t have hope. I want to inspire them to shift the narrative away from their worldly desires and into the desires of God’s heart, interests and priorities.

The Lord’s plan has always been to prosper his people whom he loves and cares about. That way we can share in his peace together and join his children who have a future and a hope for better days ahead in his kingdom. He wants us to seek him so he can help us build our house and dwell in it.  He’ll help us plant our own garden and supply us with plenty of fruit to eat.  But first there are a few house rules we must adhere to in order to become an expert builder.

 1) Abide – We must align our thoughts, choices, and perspective under God’s thoughts, choices, and perspective. Connect with him and honor him in everything we do. Receive and trust all that we are to him in Christ. Abide in his light, love, joy and peace.

2) Listen – We have to prepare our hearts to hear his voice. We have to be ready to listen. If we want to hear him speak, we must be quiet and focused on what he is saying. Regular conversation with God can transform lives! One thing that helped me was to find a place and time to meet with God every day. When God took me in as his own, I started listening to his commands and instructions.  As a result of hearing, I now know that nothing or no one can ever come in between his love for me.

3) Obey – Jesus says I am the true vine and my father is the vine dresser.  In order for the seeds or the word of God to grow internally, we have to comply with his commands, directions and instructions.  They are used to externally prune dead branches and leaves.

We must trust that our Father will feed and take care of us. Therefore, following his way is not an option but a priority that will nurture and teach us how to walk and live by the spirit. God has plans to see us prosper in his footsteps and through processes that will allow for the building up in his home and on his foundation.

By building up on his foundation, we are given everything we need for our roots to grow down stronger into the love, Faith and wisdom of Jesus Christ our king. As we continue to abide, listen and obey, we reap what we sow in the good soil of our father’s heart.
