Meet Nekki B

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nekki B.

Hi Nekki, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am Nekki B. Of Nekki B. Styles, Koolkidnekki.com and The A’Ch Dee Podcast. A licensed Master Cosmetologist and Loctitian, Visionary and Podcast host. I started out doing hair in 2008 before I officially went to Cosmetology school in 2012. I attended the Art Institute of Atlanta prior to going to Cosmetology school so my passion has always been creating and curating projects. I enjoy helping people achieve their hair goals as well as doing dope hairstyles for shoots, projects, special events and everyday wear. I aspire to be a well-known statement hair stylist as well as an exceptional top-tier healthy hair salon owner.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Becoming all that I aspire to be has not always been easy. Moving from Atlanta back home to California and back to Atlanta again I had to really assess what it is I am truly passionate about and why it’s meant so much to me. I love creating and I love doing hair so it’s not always been easy pairing the two while working towards making my brand a household name. Finding the right spaces, building with trustworthy people, maintaining a consistent clientele and content comes with its fair share of challenges. The Ebbs and flows of navigating this world as a creative and entrepreneur is not always pleasant but it’s worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Loctitian and Master Cosmetologist, Podcast Host and founder of Koolkidnekki.com. I enjoy curating projects that muse all of my talents together while working with teams of dope artists and creatives. I specialize in Healthy Hair Care and Maintenance. As my clients like to say, “I have growing hands”. I enjoy assisting clients with achieving their healthy hair goals. As far as my website and podcast I absolutely love talking to and featuring artists and entrepreneurs who are establishing themselves in their respective communities and industries. I am inspired by people who are passionate about walking I’m their purpose. I am most proud of the projects I’ve been invited to be a part of. My love for hair has allowed me to work with some amazing people.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to stay consistent. No matter what happens stay true to yourself and stay consistent.
