Today we’d like to introduce you to Nelson Price.
Nelson, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Upon retiring after 35 years as pastor of a church with over 10,000 members I started the Nelson Price Ministries to help the faith community infuse vibrant new life into every area of society: academic, athletic, art, workforce and family life, working through existing organizations the object has been to take the message of hope, faith, and love to the marketplace and sports arenas. This is being done to enable to realize what the French call “Joi de Vivre,” the joy of life as a result of realizing “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows those who trust in Him.”
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Nelson Price Ministries – what should we know?
I have been instrumental in enabling the Nelson Price Center for Erban Ministries in New Orleans which trains approximately 4,000 persons in ministering to the community. It played a vital role in the recovery of the city after Hurricane Katrina.
I gave guidance in funding and developing the Nelson and Trudy Price Learning Center on the campus of Shorter University. I gave my 10,000 volumes to the school.
Serving as a chaplain for Holland America Cruise Lines I have traveled to Antarctica and the Arctic along with other exotic ports.
Serving a Chairman of the National Board of Trustees of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes we grew it to become the largest faith-based student organization in America.
I have authored 20 books and maintain a website featuring cultural and theological insights. Additionally, I write a weekly column for several secular newspapers.
These and other accomplishments have prompted “George Trends” magazine to name me “One of Georgia’s 100 Most Influential Citizens.”
