Meet Nevaeh Hart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nevaeh Hart.

Nevaeh, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It started three years ago when I would be picked on from how I look to my hair. My mom told me to ignore them but they didn’t stop. I couldn’t take it anymore so I wanted to end my life. I attempted to at school and was then hospitalized for two weeks. I see what it was doing to my mom the hurt she was feeling and I never wanted to hurt my mom or myself. So my mom told me while in the hospital to write in a journal when people did things to you so I did. I then ask my mom could I write a book of my life like she did and she stated of course, baby, first let’s get you better first, your health is more important. I quickly did and I started my journey of reclaiming and taking my life back. No bully formed against me shall prosper. My mom helped me the most with putting my ideas together and three years later, I am Self Published Author just like my mom. We both have beaten the odds and write a book about it.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not, I would not be here today without my mom and granny, who has helped me when I get frustrated and wanna quit but my faith in God has helped me through. It’s the gospel music that I was able to push through. I fought many private battles now I’m winning in public. I want my peers to look at me and see I didn’t quit; I didn’t give up. I want other children who suffer from mental illness help to push through just like me with the help of my therapist I am maintaining. Everyone gave up on me, even the schools what if my mom didn’t fight for me? I owe everything to her. She fought to keep me in school when the school system wanted to send me to an alternative school.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
