Meet New Culture Eats of Henry County, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to New Culture Eats.

Hi New Culture, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are two college friends from the bay area who have been on a journey with God. We had tragic and tough times in California which led our faith to Atlanta, GA. We both have always been passionate with cooking and decided to start a food business together due to the inspiring levels of entrepreneurship we seen down south. Yin is from the inner city of San Francisco but his family is from down south and Jamaica. Clover is from the inner city of Oakland but her family’s origin link to Tennessee and Missouri . We decided to combine those roots and make a catering business that has picked up heavily since we started. We make sere we pray over our food for others before they eat which matters the most before selling anything. We provide flavors of Honey jerk, Garlic Parmesan and Lemon Peppers. You can pick these 3 flavors for your fries, tenders, wings or cheeseburger We also have deserts such as Banana pudding. Our sides consist of , Mac and Cheese, Brown Sugar Cornbread and Candied Yams.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
To be honest everything has been on the up and up as far as the food business. Personally, Clover had a tragic time last year with depression and suicide which we thank God didn’t follow through. Yin lost his mother at 15 and was in and out the inner city of the bay area trying to be creative and hustle to make her proud which gave him many bumps and roads in life. They both as college friends realized they needed to step out their comfort zone and travel to a new place. They realized the therapy through cooking made them not think of bad times and also made others feel good. The challenge was trying everything but GOD. Once they gave their life to God they overcame obstacles that led them towards servicing their creativity through food.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Yin has a loyal fan base through Underground Hip=Hop that he has maintained over the years. He has been seen on VICELAND (NOISEY) on TV talking about the gentrification and black on black crime in the bay area (San Francisco) . He has sold out many underground hip hop shows and been on many platforms during his career. As he got older and seen the projects and neighborhoods tore down due to low income , systematic problems and oppression he decided after the fight he wanted to finally learn to take care of himself to give back in a bigger way. He still loves music this day but never leaned on being great at just one thing. He always cooked for other artists, family and friends and people always expected him to have a restaurant of his own one day.

Clover is well known in the bay for doing hair . She is very talented with hair installs, braids , locks and natural hair treatments, She has always been booked in the bay area but felt as if she can do even more somewhere else. When she moved to Atlanta, she realized that everyone is show casing all their talents. She realized doing hair , people are always hungry. Once her and Yin pressed the line in that field they both realized no matter what, people have to eat by the end of the day.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Belive in God. You don’t have to have it all together. Trust in him on your path and everything will work out. Also, be you! You don’t have to always have to a persona in front of the camera. People want to relate and then elevate. Slow motion is better then no motion. Always make it happen , stir ya own ship like. captain , and get ready for the sailing to get to crackin. Stack your money and only buy when needed. The paradise of a high end lifestyle can be near down the road but that doesn’t matter if you can’t save for a rainy day or spend to elevate your calling. to the next level. Also help yourself and then help others. Also make sure to always make sure you help others!

When it comes to cooking, clean your food first, prep your seasonings and make your plates how you want others to make them for you.
