Meet Nia Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nia Green.

Hi Nia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a 19 year old business owner & freelancer. In 2020, I became a survivor twice. I survived suicide & major depression disorder before still being able to graduate in 2020 with my peers. Of course, our graduation was not formally held due to Covid. After graduating, I left for school 1,000 miles away from home.

Surviving again this time a terrible car accident flipped into a ditch with No injuries & No scratches. After coming home, I realized how precious life was. My parents are both older & disabled so I knew it was time to get my head on. I decided to do and be everything I’d always aspired to be. I started a natural self-care business with my sister called Queensnaturecollection, I also do hair, art, music, cooking, & YouTube. My passion has always been for music.

I am not ashamed of my life and how I got here today, rather appreciative of every lesson life has given me thus far. Respect, loyalty, & trusting God, I stand on that.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. Emotionally, I have struggled trying to balance being a growing adult, business, & family. I just know hard work pays off. Financially, We haven’t always had enough but we always made it work and that’s a community issue anyways. I’ve struggled so much just to not give up or quit on myself. As well, you lose a lot of things trying to keep going, you lose friends, gain enemies, you lose money & materialistic things. I definitely think my biggest obstacle has been doubting myself. I always believed what people said about me & spread about me. I never really believed in the person in the mirror until recently.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m creative. I do what I do, not what everybody else does. I’m very experienced in every area of my creativity. I’ve been producing music, cooking, doing hair & nails for a while now but I just never believed in it. I’m really hard on myself. I’d just say everything I do is art. Quality is everything to me. I try my best to produce quality in everything I bring forth whether it’s music, my food, my crafts, hair, etc. I love what I do.
