Hi Nicholai, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The Journey of Giraffe Graphics: From Corporate to Creative Legacy
My story is one of passion, perseverance, and the realization that creativity is not just a talent—it’s a purpose.
I’ve always been drawn to art, design, and storytelling. As a kid, I was the one sketching logos, designing t-shirts, and imagining brand identities before I even knew what branding really was. That passion led me to attend the Art Institute of Dallas, where I developed my skills in graphic design, branding, and digital media.
However, life had different plans. I found myself stepping into the mortgage and banking industry, working with major financial institutions like Chase, Bank of America, and the SBA. For nearly a decade, I climbed the corporate ladder, believing that stability was the responsible path—especially after starting a family.
But despite my success in finance, something always felt incomplete. I realized that no matter how much money I helped businesses secure, their success always came down to their brand identity, their ability to stand out, and how well they visually connected with their audience.
That’s when I had my breakthrough moment: You can’t hand down a corporate job to your kids, but you can build something lasting—something they can inherit, grow, and be proud of.
So I made the decision to return to my true passion: design and branding.
Moving to Atlanta & Meeting Middle Man Fresh
When I moved to Atlanta, I stepped into a city rich with culture, creativity, and entrepreneurship. But I also knew that breaking into the creative scene here required more than just talent—it required connections, collaboration, and cultural understanding.
That’s when I met Middle Man Fresh, an Atlanta legend in fashion, branding, and hip-hop culture. Through our conversations, I not only consulted with him on branding, creative direction, and apparel design, but he also became a mentor—guiding me through the Atlanta fashion scene and helping me navigate its unique creative ecosystem.
This experience reinforced my mission: to use Giraffe Graphics to help entrepreneurs, artists, and business owners remove creative barriers, build strong brand identities, and elevate their presence in the market.
The Birth & Growth of Giraffe Graphics
I founded Giraffe Graphics because I saw too many aspiring entrepreneurs with amazing business ideas who were stuck simply because they didn’t have a logo, a website, or a brand identity.
I would hear the same struggles over and over again:
❌ “I have the vision, but I don’t know where to start with branding.”
❌ “I need a logo, but I don’t know what it should look like.”
❌ “I want to feel official, but I need a website to bring it all together.”
Instead of letting branding be the thing that holds people back, I made it the thing that pushes them forward. At Giraffe Graphics, I don’t just create visuals—I help businesses build brand identities that are strong, clear, and built to last.
Some of the key services I provide include:
✅ Logo Design – The foundation of a brand’s identity.
✅ Web Design – Creating digital storefronts that attract and convert customers.
✅ Brand Consulting – Helping entrepreneurs define their messaging, aesthetics, and strategy.
✅ Apparel & Merchandising – Designing wearable branding that makes a statement.
Where I Am Today & What’s Next
Since launching Giraffe Graphics in Atlanta, I’ve had the opportunity to work with:
Established entrepreneurs looking to refine and elevate their brand.
Startups and small businesses needing business cards, logos, and websites to establish a professional presence.
Fashion industry leaders like Middle Man Fresh, helping him expand his visual branding and digital strategy.
Community-driven projects that support small businesses and cultural initiatives.
Right now, I’m expanding Giraffe Graphics into fashion and streetwear, bringing bold, statement-making designs to life. At the same time, I’m leveraging platforms like VoyageATL to bring more visibility to my work and connect with creatives, entrepreneurs, and brands that value strong, strategic visual identity.
For me, design isn’t just about making something look good—it’s about telling a story, creating emotion, and building a lasting legacy.
That’s why my motto is simple:
“Stand tall, even if you stand alone. Better Late Than Never.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The Road to Giraffe Graphics Company 🦒: Challenges, Setbacks, and the Strength to Keep Going
The journey to where I am today has been anything but smooth. Every success has been built on lessons learned from struggle, setbacks, and perseverance. But I wouldn’t change any of it—because those challenges shaped both me and Giraffe Graphics into what we are today.
The Biggest Challenge: Choosing Stability Over Passion
One of the hardest struggles I faced was choosing between corporate stability and my creative passion. When I first launched Giraffe Graphics, I was at a crossroads—on the one hand, I had the vision, the talent, and the ambition to create a design company that could change lives. On the other hand, I had just started a family, and the pressure to provide led me to take what I thought was the “responsible” route: a corporate career in finance.
For nearly a decade, I put my creative dreams on hold to climb the corporate ladder in the mortgage and banking industry, working with Citibank, Chase, Bank of America, and the SBA. While I gained valuable business acumen, I couldn’t ignore the nagging feeling that I was suppressing something fundamental about myself. I wasn’t just working a job—I was sacrificing my purpose.
Then came the realization that changed everything:
You can’t hand down a corporate job to your kids, but you can build something lasting—something that creates opportunity, wealth, and legacy.
That’s when I knew I had to return to Giraffe Graphics Company—this time, for good.

The Transition Back to Creativity: Starting Over
Coming back to design and branding after years in finance wasn’t easy. The creative world had changed, and I had to rebuild everything from the ground up—new clients, new connections, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Then, when I moved to Atlanta, I was once again stepping into uncharted territory. I had the talent and the drive, but I had to learn how to navigate a new market, build relationships, and immerse myself in the city’s creative ecosystem. That’s when I met Middle Man Fresh, an Atlanta fashion and branding icon. Consulting with him on brand development, apparel design, and strategy was an incredible experience, but more than that, he became a mentor—helping me understand how design, culture, and branding intersect in Atlanta’s unique creative scene.
That partnership gave me the insight, connections, and confidence to truly root Giraffe Graphics Company in Atlanta’s entrepreneurial culture, solidifying my role as not just a designer, but a creative strategist and consultant.

Helping Others Overcome the Same Struggles
One thing I’ve learned through my own struggles is that so many entrepreneurs and creatives face the same roadblocks I did.
They have a vision but don’t know where to start.
They know they need a strong brand but struggle to define it.
They feel stuck because they don’t have the right logo, website, or apparel to make them feel “official.”
That’s why Giraffe Graphics Company exists. Because I know what it’s like to feel stuck, unsure, and overwhelmed. I’ve been there. And now, my mission is to help businesses remove those creative barriers and move forward with confidence.

Why I Keep Going: The Bigger Picture
Despite the struggles, one thing has remained constant—my commitment to building something meaningful. Giraffe Graphics Company isn’t just a design company; it’s a legacy.
That’s why my motto is:
“Better Late Than Never.”
It’s a reminder that no matter how many detours you take, no matter how long it takes to get back to what you love, it’s never too late to build something great. Every challenge I’ve faced has prepared me for this moment, and now, I’m creating designs that don’t just look good—they make an impact.
So no, the road hasn’t been smooth. But the rough roads are where you build resilience, vision, and the drive to stand tall, even if you stand alone.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Giraffe Graphics: Standing Tall in Design and Branding
Giraffe Graphics is more than just a design company—it’s a movement, a mindset, and a brand that represents elevation, vision, and standing out from the crowd. We specialize in graphic design, branding, and creative direction, helping businesses, entrepreneurs, and visionaries bring their ideas to life through bold, impactful visuals.
At Giraffe Graphics, we believe that branding is storytelling—it’s not just about having a logo, a flyer, or a t-shirt; it’s about creating a visual identity that speaks to people, resonates with audiences, and leaves a lasting impression. Whether it’s designing business cards for an emerging entrepreneur, crafting t-shirt graphics that make a statement, or refining the visual identity of a boutique owner, my goal is to bring strategy, creativity, and originality into everything I create.
What Sets Giraffe Graphics Apart?
What makes Giraffe Graphics unique is the philosophy behind it. The name “Giraffe” isn’t just random—it represents elevation, vision, and boldness:
Standing Tall – Having integrity, originality, and confidence in one’s brand.
Seeing the Bigger Picture – Designing with purpose, thinking beyond aesthetics, and ensuring branding aligns with long-term business goals.
Reaching Higher – Always pushing creative boundaries, whether in streetwear, digital branding, or custom artwork.
Many designers can create something that looks good, but at Giraffe Graphics, I focus on designing with intention—helping clients build a brand that not only looks professional but feels authentic and attracts the right audience.
What Am I Most Proud of Brand-Wise?
I’m most proud of the fact that Giraffe Graphics isn’t just a design company—it’s a platform for creative empowerment. I’ve had the opportunity to help entrepreneurs who were struggling with their brand identity find clarity and confidence through design. Seeing a client’s reaction when they realize their brand is coming to life is what drives me.
One of my proudest moments has been moving to Atlanta and immediately making an impact—designing for local entrepreneurs, helping boutique owners refine their brands, and working on community-driven projects. Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people know me for my work in graphic design and branding through Giraffe Graphics, but what might surprise them is that I’m just as passionate about food as I am about art. In fact, I don’t just design brands—I design experiences, whether it’s on a canvas, a t-shirt, or a plate.
I run Diala’s World Kitchen, where I bring my artistic vision into the culinary world. Just like with branding, I believe that food tells a story, evokes emotions, and creates lasting impressions. My catering is an extension of my creativity—every dish is crafted with the same precision, attention to detail, and artistic touch that I bring to my design work.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just cook—I curate entire experiences. From the plating and presentation to the ambiance and theme, I bring an artist’s eye to every element. Whether it’s a private dining event, a pop-up experience, or a high-level catering spread, I approach food like a designer approaches a masterpiece: bold, intentional, and unforgettable.
For me, art and food aren’t separate—they’re two sides of the same creative coin. Whether I’m helping a boutique refine their branding or crafting a visually stunning dish for an event, my goal is always the same: to make people feel something, to elevate the experience, and to create something that lingers in their memory long after the moment has passed.
