Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Sims.
Nicholas, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
So I’m a musical artist under the name of Mike Bravo, and I started making music back in 2018, along with frequent collaborator, Alex “EVIL” Nichols. I signed under his label Ran It Again Records and together we put out 2 EP’s and three singles, as well as featured on the albums of Memphis rapper, Hotel, and Virginia’s Antny Rome. Eventually, I moved on to form my own collective called “OTR”. Later I expanded it to OTR Entertainment after filing for an LLC. OTR Entertainment still operates as an entertainment company that currently is focused solely on music. The roster includes producers Unxpxctd, IC and my partner “INDI5HUNNIT”, as well as singer/songwriter “SOSRRY”. Shortly after OTR was formed, I had released another EP and mixtape, while managing SOSRRY and INDI5HUNNIT.
I have also been able to work with producers Andre Palace, OJ Finessey. And I have been collaborating with artists such as Chase Iyan, Hrtbrkfever, R. Locko, and Byron Juane.
At the current moment, I am working with OTR’s creative director, Zeak Sims, to start the production of our own apparel.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been a smooth rode at all. Some of the major struggles were learning how to lead, learning how to work with different individuals in various settings, and staying motivated.
I consider myself somewhat of a perfectionist, so when it came to the music, I always had a vision of what a finished song would sound like. In the beginning, learning how to stay motivated and confident, even when the music wasn’t up to par was difficult. Then once the music got better, learning how to navigate through the sea of emotions and personalities of different artists and producers was difficult too. So far, I’ve worked closely with three different producers/engineers when creating projects, and I’ve learned so much from those experiences.
Another challenge was when I created the OTR collective. Getting different artists together, to work under one collective, proved to be a difficult task, but one I learned from. I learned that I was the glue/connecting piece in our camp and I learned how to lead/motivate each individual in a particular way.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with OTR Entertainment – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
OTR Entertainment is an Entertainment company that is solely focused on music at the current moment. We operate as a label, publishing company, and promoter all in one. We manage our artists and provide them with the resources needed to help them elevate to their desired heights. We are working on our own OTR apparel, and that project is being worked on right now with the help of myself and our creative director, Zeak Sims.
Our mission is to provide genuine and quality content and entertainment to all audiences. OTR stands for “On The Rise’, and we continue to innovate ourselves and ascend to new heights, all while being our authentic selves and connecting with the people around us.
What sets us apart is our uniqueness. As musicians and creatives, we have created our own”wave” and “sound”. I like to call it “drop top music”. When it comes to music, I am proud of the fact that we’ve been able to cultivate a loyal fan base and following, by creating timeless music and providing raw content.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plans for the future is to continue to make more great music and add to our roster of artists. We also plan to venture into other forms of entertainment and art such as photography, cinematography, etc. Like stated previously, we plan to start pushing our own apparel soon. Another plan for us is to start touring with our artists.
