Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Weinberg.
Nick, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After graduating from The University of Georgia in 2010 I moved to Atlanta and began working in event production and promotion; one day we received a phone call that The 5 Spot in Little 5 Points was for sale and we should take a look if interested. Following our purchase of The 5 Spot, we underwent an 18 month period of fundraising and renovation, with Aisle 5 opening in October of 2014.
In addition to owning, operating and talent buying for Aisle 5, I manage 3 local bands: Funk You, Voodoo Visionary & Hedonistas. Lastly, since 2015 I have assisted with production, stage managing and local talent buying for Sweetwater 420Fest.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No road worth traveling is ever smooth! I have been very fortunate to have built such a strong team that the struggles are shared and overcome as a group.
Aisle 5 – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Aisle 5 is a 300-capacity music venue located in Little 5 Points. We host 250+ events per year and cater to all styles of music while providing a safe, professional and hospitable environment. Again I’d have to highlight the production team and venue staff of Aisle 5 as our proudest accomplishment!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as having the opportunity to do what you love every day with people you enjoy working with.
