Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Binns.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Nicole. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My love for eyelashes begin when I started getting them done on myself. My lash tech would come into my home and within 2 hours I was feeling and looking like a new woman. It was at that very moment I decided that I loved how it made me feel and I wanted to give other women the same experience! I started out being a mobile lash artist, servicing women in the comfort of their own homes and once my clientele built up I opened my studio. I now have a wide range of clients who live far and near! I pride myself on brining beauty and light into the universe making each client leave more beautiful and happy than when they walked in!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was not always smooth. Applying lash extensions is not as easy as it looks! The many hours of perfecting my craft was a bump in itself. I spent many days wanting to throw my tweezers away and go back into the corporate world, but with faith in God and a great support system I was able to concur that bump! So now my advice I always give myself and others is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel but you HAVE to push through!
iLash Mob Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a black owned small business that specializes in eyelash extensions, and training!
I’m known for providing excellent service, education and mentoring to both my customers and clients.
I’m proud that I’m known as the “helper” in the lash world. Many lash artists start out not having a clue as to where to start. I provide that knowledge to them. What sets me apart from other lash companies is that I host a live Instagram session every Thursday called L a S H Talk About It, that I am the founder of. It is a platform for other lash artist to voice their questions and concerns about the lash business.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment as a lash artist was when I was able to complete a full set of eyelash extensions in under 3 hours lol. I say that jokingly but trust me other lash artist will contest that’s a HUGE accomplishment.
But as an educator my proud moments come from showing others my craft and they actually “get it” When my students send me pictures of their work, it makes me proud to see that they too are making others feel joy!
As a business owner, I’m the proudest when I step into my studio knowing that I am living out my dream every day by becoming my own boss!
