Meet Nicole Carter of Tipsy By Nikki in Midtown Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Carter.

Nicole, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Tipsy By Nikki Mobile Bartending Company was a mantra I used to write down in my journal when I knew I wanted to start my own business because my corporate America job just wasn’t motivating me professionally anymore. Tipsy By Nikki grew into an official business last Summer 2019, after three years of putting it off when my boyfriend P ran into some legal issues that caused me to step up and put my superwoman cape on. I’ve always been a very hospitable person who loves making drinks, creating memories and a pleasant environment.

From my undergrad years, I would make festive alcohol drinks during homecoming or school events and sell them to my friends or locals in the area. I knew engaging in the beverage industry was lucrative because I had so many friends in the restaurant industry that were managers, bartenders and bouncers; I would hang out at their establishments and see how much money was being generated within two to three hours solely off alcohol and wanted in. Tipsy By Nikki for me as well as my clients have become bigger than I could ever imagine with so much local and away family and friends supporting my business. The pandemic really has aided me in making my business known more within Georgia and I am very thankful for the blessing.

Has it been a smooth road?
Getting Tipsy By Nikki off the ground has not been the smoothest road, I can recall the countless times I would get off my corporate America job, come home exhausted to my boyfriend P with tears in my eyes, just mentally frustrated wanting more. I would write down my thoughts, my emotions, my dreams every day, pray over them and just cry because I knew I needed to start this business. I needed to be an entrepreneur. Then, last summer 2019, when my boyfriend got incarcerated, there was a shift I felt mentally, emotionally, physically, more like a burden that I had to carry. So, I went to a hallway closet in our house, found my old journal from 2017, flipped through a few pages and I knew it was time to make Tipsy By Nikki a reality. Truthfully, Tipsy By Nikki became an outlet for me to escape that burden. Always reminding myself that there is no money in my feelings and I have to put my big girl panties on (so to say).

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Tipsy By Nikki – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Tipsy By Nikki is a Mobile Bartending Company. I travel any and everywhere for a small fee, of course. Bringing my radiant personality with a good few alcoholic drinks and a very lasting impression on my clients. The services offered from my Bartending company are bachelor parties, lifestyle parties, bachelorette parties, weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, kiddie parties, cocktail parties, grand opening/launch events, galas, quarantine parties, girls night, you name it, I’ll recreate it. My proudest moment thus far for my company will be celebrating one year official come November 17, 2020. I’m not afraid of a “NO”, like when one person doesn’t want a particular service or drink that I’m offering, I politely smile, keep my head up and get to the next individual that NEEDS my business. I’m learning as an entrepreneur to push through regardless of a “NO” because what one person doesn’t like, someone else will LOVE!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I’m not naive of Atlanta but what I love about Atlanta is the entrepreneurial spirit. This city is like no other when it comes to the hustle and bustle of getting what you want. That entrepreneur buzz is what keeps me up at night thinking, “What can I do better?”, “How should I promote new content?” “Where is the next place I can showcase my business.” Atlanta is a beauty, like seriously. There’s nothing that I honestly dislike about here.
