Meet Nicole Franks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Franks.

Nicole, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a Stone Mountain native. I moved to Washington, DC to attend Howard University for college and never looked back. After graduating in 2015, I continued on to Howard University School of Law and pursued a dual degree – JD/MBA. I graduated with both degrees in May 2019 and began working my first corporate job. I now work as a Management Consultant for a Big Four accounting firm. I am also a third-year NBA Dancer and co-captain, and a Fitness Instructor with 305 Fitness. As long as I can remember, I’ve always been on the go. During my four years at Stephenson High School, I was Dazzling Diamond dancer/captain, flute and piccolo player, and basketball cheerleader. I have been blessed to earn 3 degrees and embrace my passion for dance. Down the line, I plan to start my own Marketing company and open my own dance studio.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There were definitely some bumps along the road. First, law school is HARD. It was a time where my biggest insecurities came out and got the best of me. And then I didn’t even decide to go that route. But it did give me an incredible education that I will carry with me forever. And dance is actually what helped get me through, and it helps get me through till this day. I know that there are even more struggles to come as I further my career in business and dance/fitness. I encourage anyone who has any dream, to just go for it!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
With not even a year of full-time work under my belt, the sky is the limit! One day, I hope to open my own Marketing Agency and my own dance studio. I am just taking it one day at a time but I know that I will be an entrepreneur in the end. I look forward to continue dancing in any shape or form and empower others through everything I do.
