Nicole, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The start of my business, Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency is connected to a life-changing event. In 2018, I became a mom through the gift of adoption. Wanting to have a more flexible lifestyle which would allow me to spend more time with my daughter, I decided that corporate America was no longer for me. I was confident that after managing P&Ls of billions of dollars for several Fortune 500 companies, I should be able to manage my own company. So I set out to find the right company for me. Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency literally fell in my lap. I had found my daughter’s nanny through Twinkle Toes and was a satisfied client. As I was looking for the right business for me, I learned that the owner of the Atlanta franchise was looking to sell the business. This couldn’t have been more right, the timing was perfect and the business provided the lifestyle I desired for my daughter and me.
In February of this year, I left my 20 years career in Corporate America behind to start my life as an entrepreneur.
Has it been a smooth road?
I’m sure any entrepreneur will tell you that the beginning of a business is rocky. For me, the biggest challenge was having to manage every aspect of the business myself. In corporate, I could call on any cross-functional partner I needed to help me get my work done. But as an entrepreneur, I had to wear all hats.
The other challenge is in HR. As we are responsible for providing care for children, it’s crucial that I find the right talent. I’ve been fortunate to find some amazing nannies, but am always looking for more.
But to counter all that, one of the things that has gone amazingly well is getting the word out. I’ve been simply humbled by the number of people who have shared the word about my business, from clients who love our business model and are delighted to share it with neighbors, and friends and former co-workers who know and trust me based on the relationships I have fostered throughout the years.

Twinkle Toes is an amazing company. Having been a client and now an owner I can honestly say we are the company you want to help you find your nanny. Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I am about as close to an Atlanta native as you can get. Though I wasn’t born here, I came when I was a wee little one year old. As an adult, I lived around the world, but I have always called Atlanta home. I love that its a big city that still has small-town feel. There are neighborhood places I frequent that when I walk in people know me. 🙂
As with most locals, what I like least is the traffic. I have to carefully plan my day to make sure I am nowhere near 285 or 75N in rush hour. 🙂
