Today we’d like to introduce you to Nida Khan.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started literally overnight! Never did I think, I would be a wedding planner. But that’s how miracles happen, and so did mine.
A great friend and excellent photographer Sara from This Modern Love saw my talent at my sister’s wedding. She was with me at several other weddings where I was doing the same thing of organizing, moving crowds, and helping with entrance coordination. Sara later met with me one day and said: “I see you wear high heels and fancy clothes at weddings and doing coordination; why don’t you make money out of it; you are so talented and it actually helps us, photographers, too”.
Overnight, I thought about it and discussed with my husband. I never wanted to neglect my kids and they come first, so my husband said: “well your work is on weekends, so I will be home and weekdays when I am gone, you are home, so what’s the problem.”
And that’s how I started overnight. 🙂
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Fortunately, it has been a smooth road. I am blessed to have great clients. Some struggles were always there like how to know what price is the best, how to make packages, what do I offer to clients… but blessed to have YouTube which helped me learn the different types of wedding and how to execute them.

We are known for quality rather than quantity. And I truly believe in doing one wedding at a time perfectly, rather than multiple weddings on weekend and losing focus. We are also known for multi-cultural weddings that we have done and really understanding the needs of both cultures.
What were you like growing up?
I was and still am very OCD. From my bed to my desk, everything has to be in its place neatly. Yes, I am one of those who sleeps in the corner of the bed and wake up in the same position because I don’t want to mess my bedsheets and duvet.
I am very organized, public speaking was never scary to me, and just having a good time day to day is my mantra. Traveling, music, exciting food, and of course, desserts are few of my interests! I think the wedding industry is a perfect fit for me, lol.
