Meet N’kenge Jackson of Playmaker Management & Publishing in Midtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to N’kenge Jackson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us N’kenge. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I graduated from Clark Atlanta University in 2017 with a degree in public relations. I started out interning at Roc nation, working on small projects shortly transitioning to interning at Mean Street Studios. With the intent of being an A&R, management happen to fall in place when a friend asked me to help her with what she was doing. She was just starting out as an artist so it gave me an opportunity to grow my brand. The artist name is “Koko” and have been working with her for one year now. Our first placement was featured in the movie “Fragmented” on Amazon Prime.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. Things were not going the way I expected it to be in which I received a job in property management (real estate) for two years before going back full time into music. Some struggles that I had to adjust to was paying attention to detail, figuring things out that I don’t know, and knowing when to make the right move.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I manage an artist and producers. I am known for just having good relationships and getting the job done. Artist “Koko.” Producer: “Hype.” Placements from Hype: “Hello”- man Shumpert & “Don’t mean nothing” by Danileigh. My most proud moment so far is getting a placement on the movie “Fragmented” for Koko and receiving her name in her credits.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan on having a grammy and platinum records on my roster. I plan on receiving more movie placements and Syncs.
