Meet North Atlanta Actor and Model: Christopher Ruffin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Ruffin.

Christopher, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story is very interesting, I grew up in a small town in Mississippi. Then I moved to Dallas, Tx with my father where I attended high school. When I finished high school I moved to Grambling, la, this is where I attended college for 4 years. I also was a division 1 track and field runner, and also received my B.A In biological science.

After college, I received a scholarship to Life University in Atlanta, Ga to become a doctor of chiropractic. My passion has always been acting and modeling, so in 2011 I decided to sacrifice everything and not attend doctoral school. I packed up all my bags and moved to Las Vegas with a one-way plane ticket and 45 dollars to my name. My cousin gave me a floor to sleep on which was the deciding factor, because I knew something great would happen if I could get as close to LA as possible, because at this point I had sacrificed everything such as, putting medical school on hold, leaving mother and siblings behind, several jobs offers, and the security with my family behind, in order to achieve my dream of becoming an actor. I started doing tons of extra work on different tv and movie sets hoping I would get discovered, and I also started going to acting classes on my spare time. I was on the set of the movie Last Vegas with Morgan Freeman, Kelvin Klein and many more successful actors in Hollywood. While on set the Director ask me to be a stand-in for the entire movie. This happened within my third week of being in Las Vegas. The production company loved me so did the directors and everyone else on set. This was the turning point that changed my acting career which leads into an opportunity to join the screen actors guild. Which made me want to perfect my craft so I moved to Atlanta 2 years later and started working more in the industry on tv shows, films, etc, (LAHHATL, Fatal Attraction, Being Mary Jane, House of Lies, Royal Pains, All Eyes on Me, Hangover 3, Survivors Remorse, and many more. I have been blessed to work with some of the elite stars in the industry which is a very humbling experience considering coming from a small town with a population of 2,000 people. It has been a very harsh road but I’m proud to say that I’m truly living out my dream of being one of the best entertainers in the industry. I travel back and forward from LA to Atlanta working in the industry, so I would love if all my family, friends, and fans tune in for upcoming projects.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been an easy or smooth road at all, I face many different tasks every single day when dealing with the entertainment industry. Every day I have to stay motivated to keep pushing and never stop because you never know when your time is near. That is what motivates me the most knowing that I’m working in the most competitive fields in the world. I fill like I work the best when my back is against the wall, that is all a part of the process of being great in this Industry. Moving from city to city going on auditions, traveling with limited funds, not being able to trust people are just a few of many struggles along the way.

Have you ever felt like giving up?
Honestly, I have never had a moment where I thought about quitting, but I have been through some very tough moments in life.

What would you tell someone who is just starting out?
The best advice that I can give is always network, never burn bridges, respect other artist work, and most important stay humble.

What are you most excited about these days?
I’m most excited to see how the world will react when they see my talent on the big screen all around the world. I also know in the near future I will be able to change lives all around the world.
