Meet North Atlanta Photographer: Joe’l Breeze

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe’l Breeze.

Joe’l, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up I had a fascination with magazines and looking at all the pictures, not reading none of the articles. I’d look at the pictures trying to find out how it was shot or how I would have shot it. I made my decision to become a photographer in high school after breaking my foot playing football, at that time I thought I was going to be doing something dealing with sports but I had to move onto my real passion which was photography I made my decision to become a photographer in high school after breaking my foot playing football, at that time I thought I was going to be doing something dealing with sports but I had to move onto my real passion which was photography. Ended up going to the Art Institute of Atlanta to get more in-depth knowledge of my craft.

Has it been a smooth road?
In the grand scheme of things, it has been pretty smooth but there were some challenges along the way with getting to know the right people, filtering through the people who were about business and who weren’t. The real challenge was trying to find my own niche that I can be identified by within my craft so when you see a picture that I’ve taken you would know it came from me.

What role has luck had in your life and career?
Luck has played a major role, I’d say it’s 50/50 I’m lucky to have the talent I do have. It’s a blessing to be able to bring your visions to life in any form of art. I had to realize that I was lucky to have this talent and not take it for granted. The other side of success was just doing the footwork to get my name out there. Being in the right places, sending photos to the right people and just putting in the physical work.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The ability to dream along with good work ethic is an unstoppable force. No one can take away the dreams your brain form and if you’re really passionate about your dreams they will see light. No matter how long it takes

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like the culture my city brings to the world. Atlanta is unlike any other city. Atlanta is becoming a melting pot for everyone. Everyone can be under one roof and be fine. I don’t like that fact everyone is trying to move here because the city is so great. Lol
