Today we’d like to introduce you to Octavia Miller.
Hi Octavia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
AMID Event Planning (A Moment In Design) was created in 2020 and was a hobby that turned into a business. Run by Octavia Miller and Freddie McCrae, we took what we love to do and turned it into our baby. With my love for design, planning and all things travel and Freddie’s expertise is lighting, draping and the behind the scenes of putting an event together, we birth AMID Event Planning. We specialize in event planning as well as travel planning. Creating unique and moments that you won’t forget is our goal in successfully executing the perfect event!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to entrepreneurship and running AMID Event Planning has not been easy. Between COVID and working full-time jobs, we have had to manage the business while juggling everyday life. Our drive and passion for the event and planning industry keep us grounded and planning the next best thing.

I am currently a Staffing Analyst for the Emergency Department at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Hospital in Marietta, GA. I have been Wellstar for 13 years and love the joy that I get by simply serving our patients, visitors and employees. I am a very organized and detailed and this has helped to facilitate hardworking and diligent work ethics. I am most know on for always being the “go to” girl to get the job done. Tasked to plan many events and travel plans; I am the woman to ask. No matter how small or large the event or trip, I make sure all the details count.
How do you define success?
I define success not by the amount of money that you make, but instead by the memories and experiences you create. My clients are my ultimate goal and their happiness is what drives me to create and plan events that they will forever remember. I am only as successful as my client’s satisfaction.
