Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Newell.
Olivia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Theory was founded in the fall of 2016, and officially opened its doors in May of 2017. Our mission is to elevate the industry by providing world class customer service and offering the highest trained and educated team.
We are passionate about education and continuing to maintain a fashion forward edge. By partnering with L’Oréal Professionnel and R+Co, we are affiliated with platform artists from all over the world and offer state of the art products.
We are committed to our craft, company, and clientele alike and want your experience at Theory Salon to be unlike any other.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To be completely honest, I absolutely adore what I for a living and have such a passion for my business that it never truly seems like work. I think our team has definitely had our fair share of challenges, however, we always take life’s trials and try to make the best of the situation and continue to push forward. If I had to do it all over again, I would time and time again.
Please tell us about Theory Salon.
Theory Salon is a more than just a hair salon, it’s an experience. We are a luxury salon that specializes in balayage, color correction, highlighting, blowouts, cuts, formal occasion hair, makeup, and much more! We strive to maintain a fashion forward edge by studying the latest trends and techniques in our industry and heavily educating our team. We train from the best, because we want to be the best for our community. Being affiliated with platform artists that work behind the scenes of New York Fashion Week and create top editorial covers, we hold ourselves accountable to take our business to the highest level.
Theory is a collective team that makes for some of the most forward-thinking, innovative hairstylists in the business with a combined century of knowledge and expertise. What sets us apart from other salons is our consistency and quality of service we deliver to all of our clientele.
Opening our doors just six months ago, I am beyond proud of our success and can honestly say that Theory has truly exceeded my expectations. The feedback from the community we have received and just how quickly our brand has grown, sheds light on all of our hard work coming together to create such a beautiful story.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Growing up with parents that were avid world travelers, it was easy to see that it lead to some of my favorite childhood memories. I loved being able to experience some of the most beautiful countries and cultures with my family by my side sharing the adventures. I am sincerely blessed to have had the opportunity to see the world from different perspectives, which has shaped me into the woman I am today.
