Meet Omar Simpson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Omar Simpson.

Omar Simpson

Omar, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I had started from 2018, but I couldn’t afford my first camera until 2020. I originally started off with graphic design my sophomore year in high school. My teacher always pushed me to greater. He always encouraged me to push past my limits. During the entire year of 2020, I got constant work from clients including my uncle, who is my biggest supporter. Ever since then, I have been honing my craft, getting better each client.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There was a dry spell for a couple of months that made me rethink if I wanted to continue photography. I’m not an easily discouraged person, but it made me feel as though I wasn’t getting booked because I wasn’t extremely popular or that my work wasn’t any good. It took a lot of work to get my confidence up to where it is now.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m best known for my photography. I also have my own brand called OJayys and of course, my graphic design business called OJayys Workshop. I’m also known for my modeling for brands like Miguel Wilson, Tenfigures, Howhigh2fly, Young Atlanta, etc. The name “OJayys” comes from my nickname given to me since a kid. What sets me apart from everyone else is that I work harder and find new ways to make everything easier on myself and my clients. On top of me, previously working as a server, my customer service while dealing with clients is unmatched.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
My favorite app at this time is CapCut. I love the templates they have. It makes content creating so much easier.
