Mr. Onaje Lewis is the Owner, CEO, and Operations Manager of Lewis Legacy Co., a company he proudly founded in 2017. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Lewis is an alumnus of Frederick Douglass High School and Barber-Scotia College. During his academic tenure, he was recognized as a UNCF Evening of Stars recipient.
Mr. Lewis has completed extensive professional training in various areas, including School Safety and Fire Protection, Tactical Driving, Guard Patrol and Site Protection, Executive and Asset Protection, Active Shooter Response, Loss Prevention, Counter Surveillance and Intelligence, and Plain Clothes Operations. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Lewis has led security teams at high-profile events such as club venues, award shows, grand openings, concerts, black-tie engagements, and red-carpet events. He has also served as a bodyguard for high-profile celebrities, A-listers, athletes, executives, music artists, community activists, and exclusive church personnel. Mr. Lewis personally works with each client to build and maintain strong, informative, and responsive relationships, ensuring that Lewis Legacy Co. delivers unmatched service. His training and experience have enabled him to develop security plans and protection strategies that have been implemented across the United States and abroad. His exposure to diverse cultures, environments, customs, and political and economic challenges has enhanced his expertise in public relations and security operations. Known for his unwavering professionalism and integrity, Mr. Lewis consistently strives to foster a cohesive atmosphere within his company. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to entrepreneurship has been indeed a journey. Like any journey in life, there’s gonna be ups and downs but you have to control how you respond while staying solution oriented. My experience with being an entrepreneur has boiled down to not having the proper mentorship in place to align with my dreams of being a company owner. Trial and error has been the biggest thorn in my side. Yet I’ve been able to weather the storm of my mistakes and seek out not only help but the right kind of help. Whether it’s marketing, sales, interviews, clients or etc… I’ve had to overcome the calamities of not knowing or being informed on the intricacies of not only the security business but business itself.
