Meet OOOG Brand

Today we’d like to introduce you to OOOG Brand.

So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been an artist forever. My first love, or should I say my second love is music. My first love is art, music was my voice. I was working on what would be my final project entitled “Levi’s And Chucks” (2014). There is a song on there called “Triple OG”. The producer of the song (TWEEK BEATZ), sent over a mix to that record. He labeled it OOOG. I thought that was a dope way to write it, so I decided to make tees to support the song. I had my partner Stace Lace so the design. We put those tees on the website and they surpassed any music I ever put out. We knew we had something when we designed it, we just didn’t realize how big it would become. No mystery.
Lotto raps no more…

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our original design borrowed from something that was already created. Consequently, a lot of other tee shirt designers were knocking off our concept. And while we were a success, there was definitely an urgent need to rebrand. That was difficult. We had to take something that was good and already working and make it better- then make it seamless! WAS-NOT-EASY!!! Not only did we pull it off, but the process also made us a better brand. You can see it unfold on our docu-series on Amazon Prime called “True Story 2.0”. Then, watch “True Story” and see is straight out the trunk with it.

OOOG Brand – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Most people would consider my company a clothing line, however, it’s a lifestyle brand. We make clothes that speak to a positive and progressive lifestyle. Our tees have sayings like “Earned Not Given”, “Dueces To Excuses”, “Do More. Say Less”, “God’s Gift”, “LEGACY”, etc. It’s an encouragement, a reminder, an ice breaker. It allows you to speak without uttering a word. OOOG is an acronym for the Omnipotent Opportunities Of God. Meaning ALL experiences good and bad are not happening to you, they’re happening for you. Keep going!
I always knew that I would tour around the world, but I thought it would be as an artist. Instead, I tour as the head of merchandising for CeeLo Green as a part of our co-branding venture. We’ve managed to get co-signs from CeeLo Green, Big Boi, Killer Mike, DJ Hurricane, Pastor John Gray, TD Jakes, Bill Bellamy, Gary Owen, to name a few.

My job, as the owner, is to garner and cultivate relationships with those that are like us. It’s not just a brand, it’s a lifestyle.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I think my proudest moment so far was the moment I realized that I was blessed enough to actually create something that is bigger than me. Seeing my brand on television, on friends, celebrities, etc. has been amazing. But seeing OOOG Brand on a person I’ve never met or come in contact with before is surreal! I Just realize that I’ve invested so much in my faith and this is my tax dollars at work! I mention I and me, let me digress, forgive me, OOOG Brand has and will never been a me thing, it is, and will always be, a we thing.
