Meet Passion McCaleb of PassionateTouchPhotography in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Passion McCaleb.

Passion, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve known I was an artist since I was a young child! I was given my first camera a 35 mm by my parents, and I was on my way from there. It wasn’t until my early 20s living in Chicago that I realized how much I truly loved shooting. I was infatuated with the architecture of the city, and spent many weekends aimlessly walking around with my camera.

My first paid gig…I had a coworker approach me who was extremely uncomfortable in front of the camera but wanted to give a gift to her husband, and from there I wanted to make others who hated being in front of the camera fall in love in love with themselves after seeing their pictures! Now, living in Atlanta I shoot as a freelance photographer focused on lifestyle, as well as real estate photography. I love the freedom I have when behind the camera!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Wow I wish I could say it’s been easy, there was actually a year where I didn’t shoot for roughly 8 months, I became discouraged because of trying to copy what I seen people on social media doing, I wasn’t making the money I wanted so I just stopped. I was invited to shoot at an event with over 20 models, and it was for free, but I was able to just get back to the basis of what I loved do and just have fun. After that dark moment, I promised myself my camera would always be a part of my self-care routine!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My company PassionateTouchPhotography was founded in 2012. I love shooting landscape and real estate photography, but I too love bringing the visions others have for themselves to fruition by creating art! The thing I am most proud of about my company is that I am in a position where I can create something that has the ability to make a lasting impression. In the times we are living in now, I really want to complete a project that brings light, love, but awareness of the change needed in our country.
The thing that sets me apart from others…my business is open to everyone, as a same gender loving woman I’ve experienced discrimination in the art world, and I would never allow anyone to be discriminated against within my company!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was a goofy kid; my mom describes me as a tree hugger and a free spirit. I don’t know if you follow Zodiac signs but if you do, I am a true Libra! I am also a poet, I began writing at an early age, and published my first book “Second Best Blues” in 2012.
