Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Coté.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Almost 9 years to the day the universe bestowed upon me, the gift of creativity. My artistic journey began in a self-taught explorative way. My early methodology brought forth paintings that were driven by a desire to unleash years of emotion. That raw, unbridled passion and light soon became second nature.
Please tell us about your art.
I am merely vessel. The whole discovery and continuing journey is still surreal. I look to the heavens and give thanks every day.
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
The gift and process to me is the success. I can only create, I’ll leave the opinions and criticism to the public. Patience and faith are the strength needed to persevere the fluctuations an artist must endure.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My studio and atelier are located in Cumberland, RI. My work can be found in a myriad of institutions such as: The Smithsonian, Harvard University, Mass General, the Alzheimer’s Association as well as private collections.
