Check out our conversation with PIERRE below.

PIERRE, it’s been too long since we last connected. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with our community again. Some readers might have missed our prior conversations, so maybe you can kick things off for us with a quick intro?
Hi, my name is Pierre Dubois, 46, married, 2 kids and … French. I arrived in the US about 4 years ago and Before that had founded or cofounded 2 start ups in France, :
– first one in 2000, was a mortgage comparison marketplace, a sort of French Lending tree
– the second in 2009 is a marketplace for solar equipment that we sell in France and Africa
I am now one of the co-founders and the CEO of DashStylists.

Besides growing, does your organization have a purpose or a mission ?
We do have a mission. DashStylists makes at-home hair services accessible for those who can’t go to the salon or to the barbershop (primarily seniors and homebound people). Our tech platform enables barbers to become mobile and hairstylists to offer at-home services.
We serve our clients wherever they are : in their house, in assisted living communities, in nursing homes, in rehab centers …

Please, explain how your product / service really makes a difference for its users or for the society.
We started DashStylists to solve two problems. First, about 60 Million Americans need at-home hair services because they can’t walk or drive to the salon.
Second, many hair stylists and barbers don’t make enough money to repay their student loan or even to make a decent living.

The 65+ population is growing faster and faster in the US. How are we addressing the specific challenges they are facing ?
As I said, for about 60 Million Americans, most of them being over 65, it is an ordeal to go (or drive) to the salon. or to the barbershop. To have their hair done they have to rely on unsatisfying options :
– either they must rely on relatives to drive them to the salon, or worse ask those relatives to cut their hair …
– or they can ask a local salon to send a hairstylists : but there are very few salon hair stylists accepting house calls, and when they do they charge 3 times the regular price or more.

What are the latest trends regarding longevity care ?
There are many innovations in the longevity care environment, fueled by technology and an exacerbated attention drawn to the aging population and the huge market it represents. If I had to pick one trend, it would be the improvement of structures and services to age in place. We still have a long way to go in the US, but if we can set up the proper organizations, logistics and caregiving networks, aging in place at home is the solution to several major issues of longevity : wellness and finances.

Alright, so before we go, how can our readers connect with you to learn more and show support?
You can just pass along that DashStylists is the first network of mobile barbers and mobile hairstylists.
