PJ, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
For me, it all started with a trip to my doctor’s office. I was told I needed to make a change that my life depended on. Refusing to accept what was prescribed to me, I took matters into my own hands. Transforming my life holistically, I am now an active person or what most would call a fitness enthusiast. I’ve played many sports. I’ve trained for triathlons and half-marathons, competed in CrossFit competitions. Been on crazy diets, and even lost over 100 lbs without any surgery or medications. Long story short, I’ve pushed my body to the max all for the joy of a sport and the thrill of participating in the competition.
But being so active brought changes to my skin that I was not ready for. From random breakouts, annoying oily patches, crazy dry areas, unevenly toned stretch marks and even isolated dark spots. My skin was stressed and begging for nourishment. I searched for a natural remedy for my skin ailments that met my standards—natural, non-toxic, and cruelty-free. I tried everything I could find with no success. Then, I decided to try using the same hemp seed oil I used in my daily smoothie on my skin. I almost immediately saw firsthand an improvement in my skin. That’s when I realized I had invented food for skin’
To put it plainly, hemp seed oil changed my life. But the road to finding a nutritious skin product that met my standards was frustrating. After struggling to find a product that was high quality, transparent about ingredients, and effective, I decided to create my own. Using a formula I learned from my grandmother, I found the missing link to my overall wellness.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would not be where I am today without a struggle. My fitness journey taught me discipline. It has forced me to learn about myself, to become well acquainted with my complete being. I strongly believe the knowledge I’ve gained through my quest for better health has shown me how to live a life I’m proud of– to live it fully and well. I’ve learned everything will not be perfect all the time and not worry about the little things. Challenges are nothing more than an opportunity to grow in disguise, embrace the journey and have fun along the way.
