Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Pates.
Tyler, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My first job was Chick-fil-a, started that job in the 11th grade & I worked there for about a year going into the 12th grade. From there, I encountered a few fast food & restaurant experiences from different employers but only one really stood out to me & made me broaden my outlook on the food industry. I had come by a new job in late 2017 which was a deli clerk at Publix & I quickly got noticed for my hard work and skills. Being acknowledged by management gave me enough confidence to change my major in community college to Culinary arts (2018-2019) previously being Communication Studies. Fast forward to 2020, the pandemic unexpectedly caught the world by surprise & the time that I had on my hand from being laid off my job, I knew that I had to step out and show the world my talents & what I bring to the culinary world!
Has it been a smooth road?
I firmly believe that nothing worth having comes easy, so the few obstacles that I’ve faced were pretty challenging. Self-discipline is probably what I struggled with the most, that’s where you’re breaking or making your business. I had to become mentally strong in order to grow within to have self-discipline, which helps me make better conscious business choices.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like the different varieties and styles of food the city has to offer, and the city view is mesmerizing. Traffic just about does it for me, especially in an uncomfortable situation lol.
