Meet Elements of Delight Founder/CEO – Praise Jackson! The majority of her professional career was spent in the model and talent industry. She worked with the best and brightest in the entertainment, media, fashion, music, automotive, technology, healthcare, hair & beauty, and real-estate industries. She represented hundreds of brands and worked with various companies including New York Life, Coca-Cola, Samsung, L’Oreal, Express, Sony, Mercedes, Borghese, and Nivea. In May of 2014, she found herself jobless. By August of that same year, she decided to use all she’d learned over the past previous 13 years and create her own business. That business is Elements of Delight, a brand and image consulting agency based in Atlanta, that has clients nationwide. In the age of technology and social media, though they have their benefits, Praise still believes, face to face connection with people has played a vital part in the reason Elements of Delight has a strong client base and has a solid representation. Praise is the first to admit the entrepreneurial route isn’t without its challenges, but the wins outway the woes.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. In the beginning, I wanted to be all things to everyone and in doing so would agree to provide service that though Elements of Delight was capable of doing, weren’t in alignment with our mission. Once, I recognized this, the necessary adjustments were made. This change saved but time and money.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Elements of Delight – what should we know?
Elements of Delight is a Brand and Image Consulting Agency. Our stated mission is “providing clients with exceptional service where passion meets purpose, creativity meets strategy, and identity meets style.” We provide an array of Branding and Image services tailored to meet the needs of individuals, businesses, and non-profits. Some of the Brand services include strategic planning, creation of cohesive marketing and messaging, PR, development of strong social media campaigns, solidifying event opportunities to captivate target demographic, and defining/redefining products or services. We also provide a number of image-related services including evaluation of appearance/image to ensure consistency with a persons personal or professional goals, wardrobe organization, facilitate image workshops, creating personalized image strategies and wardrobe styling/shopping. As a company, we’re extremely proud of the reputation we have garnered in these past five years. Some of our success can be attributed to our commitment to connect with the Atlanta community in more ways than just conducting business. Through our various media platforms, we like to spotlight amazing people we come across; we are actively engaged in our community in a number of ways, including supporting several charities. Every May, we honor a graduating senior with a special acknowledgment, gift, and card for their outstanding achievement. As we grow, Elements of Delight will continue to look for fresh and innovative ways to support our clients and community alike.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
As the CEO of Elements of Delight, I approach life with a positive attitude and, most times, a big smile. I’ve found that even dealing with challenging situations, when I’m positive, I think clearer and am able to problem solve quicker. It is also my belief that this is the reason I maintain a strong relationship with my team, clients, contractors or vendors. It’s amazing what people are willing to do for you when you have a positive outlook.
