Meet PRIEL

Today we’d like to introduce you to PRIEL.

Hi PRIEL, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m an Independent artist. I’ve been around music my whole life. I come from a family of successful musicians, producers, singers, and artists. I’ve always had a passion for music from a young age. As a child, I always sang in talent shows and local competitions when the opportunity presented itself. Fast forward to 2020, when I bought my first studio setup and began my journey. I started out with singing and songwriting because those were the two things I knew most about. Seeing the potential in my first demos, a fire began to burn. I had a hunger to learn more and truly dive into the beautiful world that is music. I bought my first music production software and began teaching myself.

Once I built my confidence up, I started selling beats, which turned a profit from the initial purchase of buying my studio equipment. I kept getting better and better with each track I produced. Then, I decided to take on another beast of music, engineering. Once I realized that I had the skills to produce a track and the voice to compliment it, I had to get to the point where my music became sonically pleasing. I dug up HOURS of engineering videos, webinars, you name it. This was the final that I had to be able to wear in order to truly do my music independently. I released my first song “PARTIE” in august of this year. This was my first impression as an artist. My latest release “Home to Me” is out now, I released it yesterday (10/28/22) on my birthday and you can find it on all streaming platforms.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s never a smooth road. Music is such an oversaturated market. There are thousands of new songs that come out daily, so it can be hard for an independent artist to be heard in the beginning. When you do get heard, there will be a hundred “no’s” and maybe a few yeses. I believe that if you work hard enough at something and you truly believe in yourself and want it bad enough, it’s already yours it’s just a matter of when.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I do 100% of my music myself. There are not many artists that can say that they produce, write, mix, and master all of their music, while still producing and engineering for other artists. I currently play six instruments and I’m wanting to eventually master 15 instruments

What’s next?
I have many plans in place for my music. I have a group/label that I’ve been building up for a while called the “Sonic Orphans’ Society” that has an NFT album coming along with digital art, and a storyline that ties everything together. I have LOTS of ideas and work to show the world, but we’ll save that for another interview…
